Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 14 July

We head to Caulfield & Randwick this Saturday! This week The Wolf is keen on Mantastic, who looks well placed to score his first win in Australia..

Wolf’s Best

Mantastic (Caulfield Race 3, No. 14)

Mantastic has performed exceptionally since arriving in Australia from France and once again should prove very hard to beat. He’s 1/1 when racing third up and key to his chances is that he drops 2.5kg off last start, which will be the lowest weight he has ever carried in a race. The step up to 1700m suits from the mile and with luck from the wide draw he should be getting the job done.

Circuit Bets

Humma Humma (Caulfield Race 1, No. 1)

Humma Humma closed well on debut at Listed level, before resuming this prep with a commanding win at Sandown. That was visually impressive and the time she posted that day reflects the quality of the win and also the horses she beat. That was a strong performance and The Wolf is keen to follow her here. Stable/Jockey combination are airborne at present. She’s the one.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $5.50

Alassio (Rosehill Race 4, No. 6)

Alassio is looking to maintain her unbeaten run at start number four and The Wolf is supremely confident that it will remain. She scored well last start on the Kensington, when leading the whole way to win by half a length. She maps to do the same again from the inside and with Rachel King aboard she will be tough to run down.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.20

Rillito (Caulfield Race 5, No. 3)

Rillito scored an impressive win last start over this course and distance and The Wolf is banking on her ability to repeat that win here. She cruised down the outside that day to score by two lengths and from the draw maps to do the same again. She’ll be fitter from that run and if she has improved she could put a margin on these. Craig Williams is red-hot at the moment and his rich vein of form can continue with a win here.

Voodoo Lad (Caulfield Race 7, No. 1)

Voodoo Lad’s last two races have been in Group 1 company and dropping back to this level (Group 3) should spark sharp improvement in him. He’s been competitive in much tougher races than this and the drop to 1100m also appears to suit. He’s 1/1 over this course and distance and if he brings his best he’ll find himself in the finish. Brad Rawiller was the last jockey to win aboard him and The Wolf is confident their success together will continue. He’s undefeated over 1100m (4/4) and with luck this record should remain in tact.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $4.40

Street Sheik (Caulfield Race 8, No. 9)

Street Sheik should have bolted in last start and The Wolf is confident that he gets an excellent chance to atone for that performance here. He was blocked for a run at crucial stages that day and wound up finishing second behind Al Passem. Not much splits the pair again, but The Wolf has elected to side with Street Sheik; who with the wide draw is expected to settle near the rear of the field and fly home from out-wide on the track.

Recommended Price: WIN

Bolter

Monsieur Sisu (Rosehill Race 3, No. 3)

Monsieur Sisu scored at a price last start for us at Canterbury and The Wolf is very keen to follow him here. He’s drawn well for an on-speed horse where he is expected to settle two back on the fence. Rachel Hunt remains aboard which suits as she is the only rider to have won on him in four races. This is a sharp step up in class, but he’ll make his own luck on the speed and at the price appeals on an each way basis.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $19/$4.50
