Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 24 March

We head to Rosehill & Mornington this week for the running of five Group 1 races at Rosehill including the G1 Golden Slipper for the 2yo’s! The Wolf’s best bet this Saturday loves the wet and he is expecting her to be very hard to beat stepping up to 1900m.

Wolf’s Best

Consommateur (Rosehill Race 2, No. 2)

Consommateur is undefeated in two outings on the heavy going and The Wolf is confident she will extend this record to a perfect three. Her last start over this course and distance provided her with a win and going into this second up should ensure she is fit and ready to win. She finished off nicely behind Flippant last start over what was an unsuitable distance. Stepping out to the 1900m should ensure she gets every chance to win and The Wolf is expecting her to do exactly that.

Circuit Bets

I Am Excited (Rosehill Race 1, No. 3)

I Am Excited won the Listed Fireball Stakes last start and with luck The Wolf is expecting her to win again. She accelerated like a very good horse late in the race that day and if she does the same again she’ll prove very tough to catch. Blake Shinn jumps on board which adds confidence and stepping up to 1200m should see her put an even bigger gap on this field.

Recommended Price: $3.30

Vin De Dance (Rosehill Race 6, No. 2)

Vin De Dance has won on the heavy deck before and with rain expected on the horizon he looks set to make it 2/2 in the wet. Last start he toughed it out in the G1 New Zealand Derby beating home Mongolianconqueror by a nose. NZ staying form is very good and if the expected rain continues to fall this galloper will be a force to be reckoned with.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $6.00

Parsifal (Mornington Race 8, No. 8)

Parsifal has won his last two starts and The Wolf is confident he’ll be able to notch up his third win in a row here. Trained by Michael Moroney, this gelding by Darci Brahma has put together two impressive wins against a few very formidable opponents. He’s drawn nicely in barrier 2, where Patrick Moloney should look to settle him on the speed before taking the lead in the final furlong.
Confidence Level:

Recommended Price: $10.00

In Her Time (Rosehill Race 8, No. 3)

In Her Time deserves a Group 1 win and The Wolf is supremely confident that she will get it here. She’s won three times previously when running third up and off her dominant four length trial at Newcastle she looks ready to fire first up. Zac Purton takes the reins which is a positive and if she runs up to her best she’ll prove awfully hard to run down.

Recommended Price: $3.90

Bolter

Prussian Vixen (Mornington Race 6, No. 4)

Prussian Vixen was narrowly beaten in this race last year and with another forward showing The Wolf is confident that she can win. She won the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes at Caulfield two starts ago before failing to fire in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate. This is a severe drop in class and if she can make her own luck out in front she’ll take catching.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $13/$3.70

Hetty Heights (Rosehill Race 9, No. 9)

Hetty Heights is a very good horse on her day at $31 The Wolf is confident that she is well over the odds. She comes through some very strong form races which includes placing behind Zanbagh, Lubiton and Most Exalted. She’ll like the wet track and with only 53kg on her back she is an excellent each way chance.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $31/$6.25
