Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 23 December

Wolf’s Best

Pipeline (Warwick Farm Race 8, No. 7)

Pipeline has placed twice this prep and The Wolf is confident he’ll be breaking through for a well deserved win here.

He’s third up here off two placings where has been narrowly beaten by some smart performers including Best Guess and Drachenfels.

The Wolf expects that stepping up to 1400m and dropping 2kg off that run should see him return to the winner’s stall.

Recommended Bet: Pipeline to WIN.

Circuit Bets

Cellarman (Warwick Farm Race 3, No. 4)

Cellarman flew home first up to finish third behind King Darci and Bastia and The Wolf is confident that he’ll be able to turn the tables on them here.

Cellarman put in the eye-catching run that day to make up a stack of ground, and with the fitness he’ll have taken from that run he should prove very hard to beat here.

He teams up Blake Shinn once again who is he 2/2 with and The Wolf expects their unbeaten partnership to continue here.

He steps up to the mile which should suit and with the expected pace on up front he’ll get every chance to run over the top of them.

Recommended Bet: Cellarman to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Volpe (Warwick Farm Race 4, No. 3)

Volpe was an eye-catcher last start when flashing home from the rear of the field to finish a length off the winner and he looks well placed here to return to the winner’s stall.

He’s 1/1 when running over 1600m and The Wolf is confident he’ll make it 2/2 with a win here.

He rises in weight to 59kg from 54.5kg, but that isn’t a huge worry to The Wolf as he has carried 60.5kg to victory before and there is no reason to suggest he won’t be able to repeat that here.

Recommended Bet: Volpe to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Imperial Aviator (Moonee Valley Race 5, No. 2)

Imperial Aviator is a U.K import who won well last start in Sydney after stepping to 2400m and the step up to 2500m here poses no threat.

He meets a very similiar field in terms of ability to what he met last start and if he can handle the ‘tight turning’ Moonee Valley he is the clear one to beat.

The main danger is Oncidium Ruler but He’ll back in the run from the inside draw and may have a difficult time making up ground from the rear of the field.

Expect from barrier 2 he’ll position himself behind the leaders and with clear running in the straight prove awfully hard to run down.

Recommended Bet: Imperial Aviator to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Test The World (Warwick Farm Race 6, No. 1)

Test The World beat home Bon Amis and To Excess last time out and against a much easier field here she should be winning once again.

She’s drawn barrier 1 for this assignment and with Blake Shinn aboard should be looking to settle either in the lead or on the speed.

She’s finished inside the top three at each of her 10 career starts and with the fitness from her first two runs this prep should prove very hard to beat.

The main danger to Test The World is Sugar Bella who meets her 6.5kg better off at the weights, however although she gets the weight swing she has to step up sharply in grade and The Wolf is confident that Test The World will have her measure here.

Recommended Bet: Test The World to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Wise Hero (Moonee Valley Race 8, No. 14)

Wise Hero is unbeaten at Moonee Valley and The Wolf is expecting his unbeaten record will remain in tact with a win here.

He’s drawn well in barrier 5 where Michael Dee should look to settle him just behind the leaders, before peeling out in the straight and going on with things from there.

This is a very winnable race for this son of Kaphero and The Wolf is confident he will be doing exactly that.

Recommended Bet: Wise Hero to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Miss Ballantine (Warwick Farm Race 9, No. 7)

Miss Ballantine has placed twice this prep and The Wolf is confident she can breakthrough for a well deserved win here.

Last start she finished second behind Noire, but The Wolf is confident that Miss Ballantine can turn the tables here, especially with the 3.5kg weight difference between the two.

Expect Jay Ford to settle her midfield before peeling out and chasing down the leaders.

Recommended Bet: Miss Ballantine EACH WAY.

Confidence Level:

Bolter

Lagarde (Warwick Farm Race 1, No. 6)

Lagarde placed on debut at Muswellbrook and with race experience under her belt looks well placed to win here.

She placed behind Ragged Rascal on debut who has subsequently gone on to place behind Irish Bet in the Inglis Nursery.

She’ll be much better for that run and her form around Ragged Rascal suggests she’ll run a race here.

The Wolf is very keen to be on her at $16.00/$3.75.

Recommended Bet: Lagarde EACH WAY.
