Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 21 April

We head to Randwick & Caulfield this week. The Wolf’s best bet was a dominant winner at Caulfield last start and he is expecting a similar performance from him again stepping out to the mile.

Wolf’s Best

Widgee Turf (Caulfield Race 2, No. 3)

Widgee Turf has been a model of consistency this prep by winning five races from six starts and The Wolf is confident that consistency will continue here. Last start he flew from the rear of the field to get up and if he can replicate that run here he’ll take beating. Billy Egan takes the reins which is a positive as the pair have formed a formidable partnership and from barrier 7 he maps to get a soft run throughout.

Circuit Bets

Thrillster (Caulfield Race 3, No. 9)

Thrillster won the Bendigo Gold Rush last start and The Wolf is supremely confident that his form will measure up in town. He beat home Really Swish last start who prior to running second behind Thrillster was able to place in a relatively strong maiden at Morphettville. She’s a serious talent on the rise and with Noel Callow engaged to ride looks the hardest to beat.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $4.80

Arbeitsam (Randwick Race 8, No. 1)

Arbeitsam led and won well two starts ago and The Wolf is expecting a repeat of that performance here. He placed in the G1 Doncaster Mile last start which was an excellent run as he found the lead only to be collared late by Happy Clapper and Comin’ Through. Hyeronimus on is a bonus and The Wolf is expecting him to win.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $4.20

So Far Sokool (Randwick Race 5, No. 4)

So Far Sokool was a four length winner of the Listed Bendigo Guineas last start and if she runs up to that performance here she’ll take beating. She stepped away cleanly last start to settle midfield before peeling out in the straight to put a margin on them. She displayed an impressive turn of foot that day under the hands of Nikita Beriman and looks destined for bigger and better things. She loves the 1400m and from barrier 4 maps to get a very soft run throughout.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.80

Osborne Bulls (Randwick Race 9, No. 7)

Osborne Bulls was a dominant winner last start over 1400m at Rosehill and with luck should be doing the same again. He is the class runner of the field and from the draw should be winning again. He won by over a length last start against a quality field and although he steps up in grade, it is a step up that he is more than capable of making.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.35

Bolter

Street Sheik (Caulfield Race 6, No. 6)

Street Sheik has been set to peak for this race and with Billy Egan hopping back aboard should be going very close to winning. Two starts ago at Sandown he flew home from the rear of the field to narrowly finish second, before settling on the speed to be outgunned by the leader. Tough to know which tactics will be employed for this but with the inside draw The Wolf suspects they will push forward to settle just in behind Cliff’s Edge.

Recommended Price: $10/$2.50
