Wolf’s Racing Guide – Monday, 7 May

The Wolf is off to Wangaratta and Murwillumbah to kick the week off with some winners!

Wolf’s Best

Langhro (Wangaratta Race 7, No. 4)

This lightly raced 5yo got The Wolf’s attention in his return to the track when he won by 4 lengths at Bendigo. Showed that he was a consistent performer in his last campaign but his first up run indicates that he is ready to go on with it. Will go straight to the lead and that’s exactly where we want him to be. It is the pattern that has seen him at his best – take an early lead, set a comfortable tempo, turn for home, let down and turn the burners on. Will be making it back to back wins.

Circuit Bets

Hard Got (Wangaratta Race 4, No. 3)

It is not often that we see mile maiden’s and The Wolf says we will use that to our advantage. The reality is that half of the field will fail to run out the mile and Hard Got is not one of them. This gelding has enjoyed the step out to the mile – improving with every run. Finished 5th at Benalla before just missing out with a second place finish here a month ago. Should have won last time out where he missed out by a nose. The stars have aligned for him today and he will finally break through.

Cruz De Vega (Murwillumbah Race 6, No.10)

Was a comfortable winner on debut and ran on well to finish 3rd after missing the start last time out. Drawn ideally today and should be able to take up a spot right in behind the leaders. Has displayed a good turn of foot in the past and with a significant weight advantage over the boys, The Wolf is expecting her to run over the top of them in the closing stages.

Blue Valour (Wangaratta Race 5, No. 1)

Sheer Madness and Honolulu Lass have never performed first up and it is the reason Wolfy is tipping Blue Valour to knock them off. This chestnut is well into his prep and has been super consistent. Has not finished worse than 4th in his last 5 runs – a stretch that includes multiple victories. Is rock hard fit at the moment and that is the edge The Wolf is looking for. The 3kg claim means that he will be carrying 1.5kg less than his last start!

Bolter

More Than Money (Murwillumbah Race 4, No. 2)

This More Than Ready gelding returns after a 2 month spell and has completely flown under the radar. Has been racing in city grade in QLD and this BM60 is several steps back in grade from the BM75 and BM80’s he has been going around in. What is even more attractive is his first up record which reads 3 wins and 5 placings from 5 runs. More than just a knockout chance.
