Wolf’s Racing Guide – Happy Valley, 10 January

Wolf’s Best

The Golden Age (Happy Valley Race 6, No. 8)

The Golden Age has won two on the trot this season and looks well placed to get the hat-rick of wins here.

He’s the in-form horse in the race – having won at both starts this season and whilst he faces his toughest test to date, he looks the one to beat.

Expect he’ll be taken straight to the front under the guidance of Matthew Chadwick and play catch me if you can from there.

Recommended Bet: The Golden Age to WIN.

Exceptional Desire (Happy Valley Race 2, No. 2)

Exceptional Desire has been ultra consistent throughout the 2017/18 season having placed in four from five starts and winning at the other.

He finds himself a very winnable Class 4 here and if Moreira can position him on the speed he’ll take running down.

He steps back up to 1200m from 1000m which The Wolf is confident he much prefers and he should be getting the job done here.

Recommended Bet: Exceptional Desire to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Circuit King (Happy Valley Race 5, No. 6)

Circuit King was narrowly beaten by a head last start over 1000m at Happy Valley and The Wolf is confident he can atone for that performance by winning tonight.

He jumped well that day to settle behind the leading duo before hitting the lead in the straight before narrowly going down to E-Super; who fought back on the inside to win.

This form is good enough to win here and The Wolf is confident he will be doing exactly that.

Recommended Bet: Circuit King to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Dr Win Win (Happy Valley Race 7, No. 2)

Dr Win Win has turned his form around since joining the Frankie Lor stable and off his last start placing looks ready to win.

Since joining the Lor stable this son of Makfi has placed twice and won once from five starts, a far cry from last season where he couldn’t finish any closer than five lengths off the winner.

He’s drawn an inside barrier for this which should ensure he finds himself on the speed throughout and from there should prove very hard to catch.

Recommended Bet: Dr Win Win to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Fantastic Eight (Happy Valley Race 8, No. 8)

Fantastic Eight pulled up lame last start, however prior to this he had placed twice and won once in the 2017/18 season, and The Wolf suspects it will pay to forgive his last start performance here.

He steps up top Class 2 company for the second time in his career and with his on-speed style of running should get every chance throughout.

Expect Umberto Rispoli to take him straight to the front from the draw and take running down from there.

Recommended Bet: Fantastic Eight to WIN.
