Wolf’s Friday Racing Guide – Friday, 8 June

The Wolf is looking to kick off his weekend with multiple winners this Friday at Swan Hill! The Wolf’s best has run in much tougher races than this and should be flying home late to score!

Wolf’s Best

Street Sheik (Swan Hill Race 3, No. 4)

Street Sheik has been competitive in city class races and should even more competitive in this. He’s trialled in preparation for thi and off that run looks ready to fire. Billy Egan takes the reins for trainer Patrick Payne and from the draw he expected to drift back to the rear of the field. He runs his best races when fresh and should do exactly that here.

Circuit Bets

Skilled Assassin (Swan Hill Race 5, No. 13)

Skilled Assassin has refused to win on a number of occasions but he gets an excellent chance once again to record a well deserved win. He placed second last start at Mildura over 2000m and should be much improved for this stepping out to 2100m. This is a tougher assignment but although he hasn’t won, he’s shown plenty of ability and The Wolf is confident that he will be competitive here for this.

Recommended Price: $4.80

Sovereign Duke (Swan Hill Race 6, No. 12)

Sovereign Duke is trained on track by Nathan Hobson and from the inside draw he should be able to give them something to run down. Admittedly the likes of Inn Keeper and First Among Equals will be hard to beat, but his placing behind Gibbon three starts ago indicates that he is up to this level The Wolf is expecting him to be right in this. He’s won 3/4 at this track and should be able to build on that record with a win here.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $31/$5.75

Mr Individual (Swan Hill Race 7, No. 1)

Mr Individual’s best run would blow this field away and off his latest trial for Darren Weir he looks ready to reach that peak here. He won that trial in very good fashion at Werribee beating home a few smart ones including Voodoo Lad, who is currently entered to run in the G1 Stradbroke Handicap. He’s drawn well and should be hard to catch in this.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.70

Orakei Overlord (Swan Hill Race 8, No. 2)

Orakei Overlord was far too good in this grade last start at Wodonga when winning by over two lengths and The Wolf is expecting a repeat of that win here. He has a tricky gate to contend with, but if Billy Egan can slot him in he’ll get his chance and the step up to the mile should spark sharp improvement in him. He can progress to city grade and The Wolf is expecting him to be dominant here.

Recommended Price: $2.60
