Wolf’s Racing Guide – Friday, 2 February

Wolf’s Best

Condor (Canterbury Race 2, No. 1)

Condor might be a five-start maiden, but his last start placing behind Rockin’ Ruga suggests he’ll be shedding his maiden tag with a win here.

He settle wide in the early stages of his last start placing at Warwick Farm but continued to make headway late in the race to only lose by a neck.

Prior to his first up placing he had trialled twice where he placed second in both outings.

He’s fit enough to win here and with Corey Brown remaining on board from last start, which gives The Wolf supreme confidence that he will be winning this.

Recommended Bet: Condor to WIN.

Circuit Bets

Kudero (Canterbury Race 5, No. 1).

Kudero is the highest rated horse in the race and The Wolf is expecting he’ll appreciate the drop in class.

Last start Kudero placed fourth in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford behind Calanda and Supreme Effort; both of which would more than likely come up favourite to win here.

Prior to his run at Gosford he finished three lengths behind Music Magnate which reads very well for this.

Kudero has the right form to win here and with Jean Van Overmeire’s 3kg claim gets an excellent to score a well overdue win for connections.

Recommended Bet: Kudero to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Persian Empire (Moonee Valley Race 5, No. 9)

Persian Empire placed in a hot race at Caulfield last start and The Wolf is expecting him to atone for that performance with a win here.

He steps up to 2040m for the second time in his career and The Wolf is expecting him get the job done.

He’s drawn well in barrier 3 where Craig Williams should look to settle him in the lead and dictate the proceedings from there.

Recommended Bet: Persian Empire to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Star Of Monsoon (Canterbury Race 6, No. 3)

Star Of Monsoon has turned into a winning machine since being gelded and The Wolf expects his streak will continue here.

The form around Star Of Monsoon is strong, with the second and third placegetters out of his first up win at Gosford both coming out and winning since.

He then ran in the Bill Rutledge Classic where he managed to put away a few classy operators such as Parlay Vous and Spending To Win.

Expect Tye Angland to settle him just behind the leading duo before peeling out in the straight to give chase.

Recommended Bet: Star Of Monsoon to WIN.

Confidence Level:

All Carisma (Canterbury Race 7, No. 9)

All Carisma won well last start at Canterbury and The Wolf expecting a similar performance from him once again.

Last start he flew out to lead over this course and distance and from there went on to score by nearly two lengths.

He’ll make his own luck by leading again here and The Wolf expects they’ll have a difficult time of running him down.

Recommended Bet: All Carisma to WIN.
