Wolf’s Out-Wide Racing Guide – Saturday, 12 May

The Wolf goes out wide this Saturday for his best bets around the country. There is value to be had and he has found it. Check out his best bets from Doomben & a Bolter from Morphettville!

Wolf’s Best

Goathland (Doomben Race 4, No. 12)

Goathland won very well for the new stable last start and The Wolf is very keen to follow him here up to QLD. He extended away over 1800m by a length and half when first up and from that run should have taken plenty of race fitness for this. Kerrin McEvoy takes the reins which is a plus and with only 54kg on his back he looks the hardest to beat.

Circuit Bets

Pizonie (Doomben Race 5, No. 6)

Pizonie was a dominant winner on debut at the Sunshine Coast and The Wolf is very keen to follow him here for his city debut. He kicked and led well that day, going on to beat a field of 13 by nearly three lengths. He displayed above average talent that day and if he finds an early lead here he’ll give them something to run down.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $13/$3.60

Youngstar (Doomben Race 7, No. 14)

Youngstar scored an emphatic win at Newcastle last start by over three lengths and if she can replicate that here she will be winning. McEvoy takes the runs which is a plus and from the inside draw she maps to get a very soft run throughout. The step up to 2000m suits as and The Wolf is expecting her to win this.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $4.60

Higher Ground (Doomben Race 9, No. 2)

Higher Ground scraped in by a nose last start at Randwick and if he brings that form to this he’ll take catching. He beat home Tangled that day, who is twice Group 1 placed in his own right. The form around Higher Ground is strong and with Glyn Schofield sticking aboard he maps as the one they have to beat.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.10

Stragun (Morphettville Race 8, No. 8)

Stragun was narrowly beaten over this course and distance last start and if he manages to repeat that run here he’ll take beating. He’s drawn very well for this in barrier 4 and with only 54kg on his back he maps to get all the favours throughout. He appeals at the $15/$4.20 and The Wolf is supremely confident he’ll be finishing inside the top three.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $15/$4.50
