Ball of Muscle has been racing very well in good races this campaign and a drop in class and distance should see him return to the winners stall.
The Joe Pride trained gelding has placings behind Redzel and In Her Time this prep, but The Wolf thinks he could have turned the tables on those gallopers if those races were over his favoured 1000m trip.
He is extremely well treated under the set weights and penalties conditions of this race and he has raced well down the straight before.
Recommended Bet: Ball of Muscle to WIN at $2.35.
Horses backing up with a second run during the four days of the Flemington carnival have a terrific record over the years and Sambro looks a terrific chance to maintain that here.
On Saturday he ran an excellent second placing to Levendi in the Carbine Club Stakes, and this race looks easier if anything.
Hugh Bowman should be able to give him a perfect run from barrier seven and he will take a power of beating.
Recommended Bet: Sambro to WIN at $3.80.
Onerous ran second in the greys race last year but he looks a great chance to go one better this year.
Recently transferred to the Beer/Hinton stable at Mornington, he had no luck whatsoever at Moonee Valley last start when held up for the entire straight.
There looks to be good speed in the race so if Jake Noonan can find a nice spot one off the fence, he will take plenty of holding out in the straight.
Recommended Bet: Onerous EACH WAY at $16.00/$4.60.
Luvaluva was a brilliant winner of the Wakeful on Saturday and the extra trip today looks right up her alley.
Her trainer John Sargent is masterful trainer of staying filles and she should get a perfect run from the draw.
Aloisia looks mighty hard to beat, but at the price Luvaluva has plenty of appeal.
Recommended Bet: Wall Of Fire EACH WAY at $7.00/$1.75.
