Waterhouse/Bott leader who is searching for her fourth win in a row.
Last start at Caulfield she faced her toughest test, but she responded in the straight and gave a very good kick to win for jockey Stephen Baster.
She hit the line hard that day and The Wolf is full of confidence that she’ll be doing exactly the same here.
Recommended Bet: Our Crown Mistress to WIN at $3.40.
Tough winner on Cox Plate Day who had previously placed in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes prior.
This form is outstanding for a race like this, as she is one of two horses in the field to not only have race experience, but to have actually finished first past the post.
The Gimcrack Stakes is usually full of talent and The Wolf is prepared to trust that form here.
Expect Baster to ping the gates and settle her in the front and from there take plenty of running down.
Recommended Bet: Setsuna to WIN at $5.50.
Waller trained galloper who narrowly missed first up behind My Country at Randwick over 1200m.
He steps up to 1400m here which should suit and from barrier 5 he shouldn’t be doing too much work in the run.
He’s 2/2 second up and The Wolf expects he’ll keep that record in tact with a win here.
Recommended Bet: New Universe to WIN at $4.40.
Very lightly raced colt from the Chris Waller stable who has shown plenty of ability in his short two-start career.
Last start he took a while to get going and was very green in the straight, but when asked by the rider he responded, which impressed The Wolf.
If he’s put it all together and fixed his bad habits The Wolf expects he’ll be going very close and at $5.50 is prepared to find out.
Recommended Bet: Paret to WIN at $5.50.
Last start Group 3 Nivison winner who looked utterly dominant when winning that day ahead of Zestful, Kinshachi and Dixie Blossoms; the latter of which has most recently finished third in the Group 1 Myer Classic.
She’s a top class performer, who has beaten the likes of Passage Of Time and Zonk; both of which would be near favourites to win this race.
She’s returned to racing well this prep and The Wolf is confident that she’ll score her third win in a row here.
Recommended Bet: White Moss to WIN at $4.80.
Rachel Cuningham trained galloper who won at 100-1 two starts ago at Moonee Valley.
Since spelling for 23 weeks this horse has gone to another level, from being competitive in BM58’s at Seymour to winning at Moonee Valley and narrowly placing in the latest behind some smart city class performers.
She flew home last start on the rails and whilst she had a lot of favours that day, gave every indication that the 1700m on offer here would suit.
Callow hops on which adds confidence, as his hard riding style should be able to get her going late in the race.
Recommended Bet: Rock Away EACH WAY at $26.00/$6.00.
Last start Seymour Cup winner who The Wolf suspects has come up way over the odds.
He beat home Moss ‘n’ Dale that day; who has since come out and won the Sale Cup over a mile.
Balf’s Choice is as honest as the day is long, having won six from his last 9 and finishing no worse than 2.5 lengths off the winner on the other three occasions.
Expect he’ll settle on the speed and from there, give a very good sight in the straight.
Recommended Bet: Balf’s Choice EACH WAY at $15.00/$4.50.
Melbourne Cup Selection
U.K import who placed in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes first up 2400m.
This was an excellent first run in Australia and The Wolf is confident that he’ll have come on very well that for run.
The run in Australia will have done him a lot of good and with only 53kg on his back he won’t know himself.
He drops 5kg off last start and with Craig Williams still chasing his first Melbourne Cup, you can be assured he’ll be throwing everything at Wall Of Fire to win.
Recommended Bet: Wall Of Fire EACH WAY at $13.00/$4.00.
