The Wolf’s Jumps Guide: Warrnambool

Race 1 – Maiden Hurdle: No.1 All Well
Jumpers rarely make their sticks debut at just start No.7 but that is what we have with All Well. The 4yo was racing in NSW last spring before being set on a jumping campaign with the Smerdon team. Ran a bottler last start over 2400m when beaten 3L over 2400m on heavy going at Bendigo when off the map in betting. With the claim for Jamie Mott, this is all lining up well.

Race 2 – Kevin Lafferty Hurdle: No.2 Stand To Gain
The Lafferty seems near-impossible to find the winner of so going wide with 10yo Stand To Gain. He has not won since claiming the Galleywood last year but he ran fourth in this race last year and has trialled up a treat. The heavy works in his favour. At silly odds worth an each-way ticket.

Race 4 – Thackeray Steeplechase: No.1 Sea King
The Thackeray is a super race this year and the play is Patrick Payne galloper Sea King. The 9yo has done most of his recent racing in New Zealand and has been going a treat with a steeple win and two hurdle placings in his last three. His last Australian prep saw him win the Mosstropper before trailing in Bashboy in both the Crisp and Grand National. This race sets up perfectly for him.
