The Wolf’s Jumps Guide: Coleraine
Race 1 – Maiden Hurdle: No.8 Transcript
Very keen on Transcript here at his jumps debut. The former Godolphin runner was excellent at his second run for the Musgrove yard when beaten 4L by Ropeadope on Thursday. The quick backup suggests he is flying and he is lightly raced with only 14 runs to his name. Steve Pateman taking the ride is a huge push.
Race 2 – Maiden Hurdle: No.7 Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo does not win out of turn with just five wins from 67 starts but he is a consistent type who has been flying of late. He won at Moe on the flat two runs back before just missing out at Casterton over 2000m last time out. Will be in the finish. Hopefully he has the ticker to stick his nose out.
Race 3 – BM120 Hurdle: No.5 Melaleuca
Melaleuca looks the one on the up in a fairly ordinary hurdle. The 6yo mare is having her first go over the sticks but her flat form has been good enough for this. Won over a mile at this track in June and placed at Bendigo over 2400m on soft going two runs back. If she handles the sticks she wins.
Race 4 – Great Western Steeplechase: No.3 Danzadoozie
Danzadoozie is the best of the day at Coleraine and should prove very hard to beat. Symon Wilde has a quality 6yo on his hands here, one who placed in the Brierly back in May. Was outstanding at Casterton two runs back before dumping the rider at Ballarat last time out. Handles the going and Turkey Legs gets the best out of him.
