Horse Racing Tips – Randwick
16 February 2018
The Wolf’s racing tips for Randwick. His best bet is
Deploy (Randwick Race 4, No. 2).
Race 1: 3. So It Is
SO IT IS has been crying out for this trip. Has been finding the line well in each of her runs this prep. Now gets out to a middle distance journey and carries no weight on her back. Ran fourth to Mate Story last start and now meets him 3kg better at the weights. Suspect she is ready to win.
Race 2: 2. Legend Of Condor
LEGEND OF CONDOR resumes after a slender debut win at this course over 1000m. Readied for this with a smart trial success at Rosehill over 900m. Should get a cosy run from an inside barrier. Looks an above average colt.
Race 3: 1. Emperor's Way
EMPEROR'S WAY is a stayer on the rise. Is chasing a third straight win following successes at Rosehill and here. Drawn to get an ideal run in transit, likely midfield on the fence.
Race 4: 2. Deploy
DEPLOY resumes. Wrapped up his spring campaign in the Everest after claiming track records for both the Randwick 1200m and the Rosehill 1300m. Ticks all the right boxes first up, at the course and the distance. A multiple Group winner and can add to that tally in this.
Race 5: 2. Pelethronius
PELETHRONIUS finished off well for fourth last start behind Cellarman and looks well placed to improve off that performance here. He’s 2/2 when running third up an The Wolf is confident he’ll be able to make it 3/3 here. Stepping up to 1600m suits and with Tye Angland on again he’ll get every chance. He’s twice a winner at Randwick and with luck he should build on this record with a win here.
Race 6: 9. Addictive Nature
ADDICTIVE NATURE placed on resuming behind the talented Trapeze Artist a fortnight ago. A son of Savabeel, 1200m was always going to be too short for the colt. Expect him to thrive out to 1400m.
Race 7: 1. Aide Memoire
AIDE MEMOIRE is a New Zealand mare who has recently joined the Kris Lees stable for a possible tilt towards The Championships. She placed second in the Group 1 Tarzino Trophy when beating home Gingernuts, Volpe Veloce & Sofia Rosa; all of whom are already Group 1 winners themselves. If she brings her best she'll be tough to beat.
Race 8: 3. Alizee
ALIZEE is a deserved favourite here. Claimed the Tea Rose Stakes/Flight Stakes double last spring and prior to that sprinted well in the Silver Shadow Stakes and the Furious Stakes. Will be better suited over more ground however class alone will see her a long way amongst this field.
Race 9: 17. Missile Coda
MISSILE CODA resumed well at Warwick Farm last start where she finished second behind Once More A Lady. Was beaten as favourite however market expectations aside, the run possessed merit. Form out of the race has already been franked with the winner again saluting at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
