Horse Racing Tips – Flemington
16 February 2018
The Wolf’s racing tips for Flemington. His best bet is
Kings Will Dream (Flemington Race 4, No. 7).
Race 1: 1. Praire Fire
PRAIRIE FIRE powered home behind a smart winner on debut. Was big odds there but ran a terrific race and the extra 100m has to be seen as a big positive for him now. He can win.
Race 2: 3. Imperator Augustus
IMPERATOR AUGUSTUS returned to his best form at Kyneton last time. Won and won well there and now the blinkers go on for the return to town. Think that he can peak again off that good last start effort.
Race 3: 6. Sharing
SHARING is the horse to beat. In terrific form of late and if she can replicate the sort of form that saw her winning with a leg in the air here two starts back then she wins again. Query would be where she gets from the inside barrier with the pace just middling.
Race 4: 7. Kings Will Dream
KINGS WILL DREAM has won both of his starts in Australia. Tougher test for him now but he looks to have big upside and there's clearly an engine there. He can win again.
Race 5: 1. Late Charge
LATE CHARGE hasn’t raced since August 2015, but his form on paper is good enough to win here and at his current price represents great value. Previously in his career he has beaten home Precious Gem who since went on to win the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes and also Under The Louvre who took out the G1 Stradbroke Handicap. He can win this at his best.
Race 6: 7. Paris Rock
PARIS ROCK is undefeated in three career starts and The Wolf is expecting her to go 4/4 here. Last start at Caulfield she settled just behind the leaders with cover before peeling out in the straight to hit the lead. She’s a serious talent on the rise and if she continues to race as she has done this prep she’ll remain undefeated.
Race 7: 13. Peaceful State
PEACEFUL STATE shouldn't be too far away from the inside barrier. Going to need some luck but that's the case with all of these in the big field. Really good return when picking up strongly late to run down a couple of useful handicappers. Shaping as a key Guineas hope.
Race 8: 1. Redzel
REDZEL tips himself. Star sprinter who won all four starts in the spring culminating in the Darley Classic down the straight here. That's the clear best piece of form in the race.
Race 9: 16. Manolo Blahniq
MANOLO BLAHNIQ put it all together last time and blew a field off the park in fast time at Caulfield. Always had his share of talent and maybe now we will see him deliver on that. 1400m clearly suits and if he can repeat here he can blow them away again.
