Wolf’s Best Bet
Bendigo Race 4, No. 1 My Casino Belle
Has ran some terrific races her past five starts without winning a race. Last start she just got pipped on the line by star filly Petacular and they are sure to go to war again tonight. The Wolf thinks tonight that My Casino Belle from the pole will have another crack at leading and with further improvement will be too strong for Petacular.
Bunbury Race 6, No.8 Jailbreak
He ran a very good second placing on Monday at Pinjarra where he just missed in a 56.9 second last half against a horse that is going to be a chance of winning Friday night at Gloucester Park. Tonight he draws inside the backrow which works out very well as he should be on the leaders back throughout and will have every chance on the sprint lane late.
Globe Derby Race 3, No. 2 Viewbytherock
He only got home narrowly last start but it was against similar opposition and was in very fast time. From barrier two he looks the leader again tonight and from out in front they will find it very hard to catch him. His main opposition have drawn wide and over the sprint trip he should be too zippy.
Newcastle Race 1, No. 10 Donegal Under Fire
This 10 year old gelding won’t find an easier race after coming off some solid times around the Menangle circuit where he raced the likes of Monifieth and Presidentialsecret recently. Tonight’s race is a C1 only also eligible C2 that have not won $1000 in their last four starts, this is his type of race and his best chance to get back into the winners circle even from his bad barrier.
Menangle Race 7, No. 7 Badewitz
He is going to be very juicy odds tonight and is well worth a thought against this opposition. He will need luck from his wide draw but with the right trail into the race he can get over the top of them. He is likely to be four back the pegs and shouldn’t do any work in the run and is going to be good each way odds and is well worth and each way bet.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Globe Derby Race 5, No. 1 Crystal Sparkles Nz
She has won six of her past seven starts and has drawn the pole so she is likely to come up very short in the market. Her two main opposition are death seat horses and it is possible we might have a hot speed in tonight’s final. Crystal Sparkles so far since arriving in Australia hasn’t ran a real fast mile rate and with the likelihood of her being soften up in the middle stages her short price is looking an issue.
Feature Race Betting
GROUP 3 – $30,000 Breckon Farms Breeders Crown Graduate Mares Free for All (Bendigo)
There should be plenty of early speed with a fast front line and that should ensure star mare Ameretto has every chance to get over the top of the leaders late. She is in great form winning her past three races highlighted by her win last start where she rated 1.54.5 for the 2240 metre trip. Rocknroll Magic looks the likely leader and from out in front she should give them plenty to catch. Just Rockon Bye should have the leaders back and with the sprint lane on offer she is a huge place chance as is Nikkibadwagon and Heavens Trend.
GROUP 3 – $30,600 St Gregorys College Old Boys Baby Bling Stakes (Menangle)
An even line up of mares in the group three Baby Bling Stakes with the likely leader Gina Grace looking to be the one to beat after her last start victory in 1.52 where she dashed home in 55.7 seconds for the last 800 metres. Killara Ninja is the smokey as there could be fireworks early and she has finished close up on multiple occasions recently in races that are sub 56 second last halves highlighted by her run five starts back where she finished second to Lord Zin Zan in a 54.1 half. Takara Truffle was a very nice win last week leading throughout though tonight she shouldn’t find the lead which will make her task all the more difficult. Sally Fletcher and Delightful Jade will be getting home hard late and look each way chances.
