Saturday Harness Racing Guide
Wolf’s Best Bet
Redcliffe Race 4, No.1 Nureyev
After drawing the backrow for six consecutive runs he has finally drawn the front and best of all, he has drawn the pole. Over the sprint trip The Wolf expects him to be leading and winning this race.
Globe Derby Race 2, No.8 Cyclone Mach
Drawn perfectly to be behind the leader and he should have the best run in transit. The Wolf expects him to shoot up the sprint lane in the home straight and be too good for his rivals. His last start placing in 1.56.2 shows he is more than capable of matching the rest in this race.
Cranbourne Race 10, No.2 Charlies System
This mare has hit the line extremely hard her last two runs and tonight she should drop in on the leaders’ back and will have every chance on the sprint lane at nice each-way odds.
Redcliffe Race 1, No.1 Karloo Kix
He has drawn the pole but is a slow beginner so The Wolf is expecting him to be on the leaders’ back. With the sprint lane at Redcliffe he will have every chance to run over the top of them in the straight and he is coming off a good win last start.
Menangle Race 1, No.1 Overlap
He has raced with no luck since being in New South Wales but tonight from gate one he should have a soft run in transit and he has proven he can run good time and fast closing sectionals.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Menangle Race 3, No. 5 Miss Riviera Belle
She has won her last three races but tonight she meets some better mares than last week and she will want to get a good breather mid race if she is going to out sprint her rivals in the home straight. She is from a powerful stable and is likely to start in the red and with that likelihood, The Wolf will be looking for more value.

GROUP 2 – $60,000 2016 Sky Racing 3yo Colts & Geldings Southern Cross Final (Globe Derby)
The even money favourite Rap Artist has drawn the backrow which will make his task all the more harder. With the way the barrier draws have fallen The Wolf would rather be on Jumping Jolt as he looks the leader from barrier two. Futurist was a super winner of his heat last week and if he was to apply a bit of pressure there is always a possibility that Jumping Jolt might hand up which would make Futurist the one you want to be on in the run.
GROUP 2 – $60,000 2016 Sky Racing 2yo Colts & Geldings Southern Cross Final (Globe Derby)
The Wolf was impressed by Stars Of Courage’s run last week and now he has come up with the pole position, he looks the one to beat. He did it tough outside the second favourite and never gave up fighting going down by just over a metre. The second favourite Emain Macha couldn’t be more impressive so far in his racing career having won seven of eight race starts but tonight will have to race outside the leader. Deeceeten, Nykea Courage, Gelnrae Hanover and Opinionated fill be fighting out the third and fourth.
