Wolf’s Best Bet
Albion Park Race 5, No. 1 Three Of The Best
as the ideal draw today and from the pole he should take a power of beating. He has won three of his past five race starts and has run some good time in doing so. He is in the right stable and although we wont get a huge price he should be winning.
Young Race 2, No.7 Prince Kai
Today he will appreciate a much softer run closer to the front of the pack with his barrier draw inside the back row. His form reads much better than his exposed numbers and should have gone very close to winning two starts back where he was travelling very well before galloping at the 400 metre mark. He has drawn behind the likely leader and will only need luck late to figure in the finish.
Albion Park Race 9, No. 8 Gasmonkey
He is a fast horse that always seems to get run down by a faster pacer when in front. Today he is drawn inside the backrow behind the likely leader and over the mile he will have every chance on the sprint lane. Last start he got run down late by Bring On Lefty in a 55.3 second last 800 metres, they wont be going that fast today which will suit him.
Young Race 3, No. 7 Dillon
This four year old is more than handy having won 15 races so far in his race career. Tonight he has drawn inside the backrow which is ideal as he will be on the leaders back throughout and will only need luck late to sprint over the top of him.
Shepparton Race 2, No. 12 Paloma Beach
She has only had the three race starts but in those three starts has shown she has talent and should win plenty of races in the future. Last start she was going to play a major part in the finish until she got checked and went into a mad gallop though the previous start she finished a close up third in 1.55.6 at Maryborough. With the right trail into the race she looks to have enough speed to cause a boil over.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Gloucester Park Race 3, No.3 Driven
He is going to start short because of his barrier but the Wolf just cant entertain his short odds. He has ran many good races for Tony Svilicich but has so far not registered a win for the stable. He has made mistakes for no reason in three of his past five starts and is just not a horse you want to take at short odds.
Feature Race Betting
Wasba Breeders Stakes Ms Pace (Gloucester Park)
Brilliant mare Tricky Styx resumes tonight and from barrier two she should find the lead early and be very hard to beat. She raced in last years Inter Dominion series which gives us an idea of her class and although she didn’t win in Sydney last campaign she raced well having tough trips in both races. Sheer Rocknroll is racing in great form having won three of her past four race starts, she will need luck tonight but she should be charging late. Dodolicious did plenty of work in her first race back from a spell, from her draw she will need luck but she is a high class mare. Foxy Dame and Glenferrie Arch look the best of the rest but place chances suit them best.
Landmark Midvale Ms Pace (Gloucester Park)
Here we have an incredible off season free for all at Gloucester Park with many stars resuming. Heez On Fire come from an impossible position last start to beat Ohoka Punter who looked all over the winner in the home straight. Heez On Fire looks the one to beat again as he is race fit and should be charging over the top of them late. Ohoka Punter is a star and although he may have to do it tough he will be right in the firing line late. Run Oneover and Beaudiene Boaz both resume and have to be respected first up as they both can win this class of race at peak fitness. Simply Susational looked very good in his latest win at Pinjarra and has to be respected while Bettor Reward and Rycroft should be handy throughout with their good barrier draws and look place chances.
