Friday Harness Racing Guide
Wolf’s Best Bet
Kalgoorlie Race 3, No.1 Times Of Glory
Times Of Glory has his best draw in recent starts and from gate one The Wolf expects him to be in front and he shouldn’t be headed. Second-up tonight he will be fitter and he has the benefit of a trial on Monday where he finished runner up in good time.
Gloucester Park Race 10, No.2 Kurious
This mare surprised last start when leading throughout in a stronger race than this and although there might be more speed tonight she maps to lead again and from there she should be winning. The Wolf was very impressed with her 56.6 last half. A repeat of those times in front will see her take plenty of catching.
Port Pirie Race 3, No. 1 Smooth Grin
He has won two of his past three starts. Last week he had the leaders’ back and ran straight past them on the sprint lane for an easy win. Tonight he should be behind the leader again and The Wolf sees no reason why he won’t repeat the dose
Albion Park Race 3, No. 1 Lenny The Legend
He has drawn ideally in gate one and should have enough gate speed to lead throughout. He led from gate two in early September when going on to win in smart time running a fast last half. The Wolf is expecting a repeat of that performance in fast time over the mile.
Albion Park Race 6, No.6 Max Richter
He doesn’t have the best draw but on raw times if he can slot in close enough he has the speed to run over the top of them. The Wolf says although he hasn’t won since June this is not a strong race and with luck he can show up at double digits.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Bendigo Park Race 2, No 4 Nances Delight
Although this doesn’t look a strong race she has drawn middle of the front row and might not have enough gate speed to cross early which will see her have to race outside the leader. She will be short in the market and with a filly like Dolly Mach Lombo wanting to hold the lead The Wolf says Nances Delight looks terrible unders.
Feature Race Betting
GROUP 3 – $35,000 Jp Stratton Cup Ms Pace Sky 1 (Gloucester Park)
From gate two The Wolf expects Bettors Fire to atone for his loss last week and lead throughout in this event. Last week he worked too hard early which showed late in the race. He leaves the gates quickly and will be in front tonight. Libertybelle Midfrew should have the perfect sit in the run on Bettors Fire’s back and will have plenty to offer late. Beaudiene Boaz was stunning last week scoring in track record time. Tonight he will have to race tougher which will see him not as lethal. Heez On Fire and The Bucket List have plenty of ability and look exotic players.
$23,000 Slater Gartrell Sports Ms Pace Sky 1 (Gloucester Park)
Once again Delightful Offer has drawn wide on the front row but going on last week’s win that shouldn’t matter. Delightful Offer will press forward and control the race from outside the leader. Might Flying Thomas just needs a breather to figure somewhere in the finish. Bronze Seeker will get a soft run in transit and should have plenty to offer late. Phoenix Warrior was awesome last start and tonight should be charging home hardest late.
