Friday Harness Racing Guide

Wolf’s Best Bet
Kalgoorlie Race 2, No. 7 Sergeant Oats
Last start he made a mistake in a group one two year old race though before that he had won five of his six previous starts. The Wolf was impressed with his trial win on Monday over Majorlicious in fast time and tonight has drawn perfectly behind the likely leader and will have every hope on the sprint lane.

Circuit Bets

Gloucester Park Race 5, No.10 Trustytrev
Has come up with a great barrier draw inside the backrow and with his racing pattern as a sit sprinter he should conserve all his energy and make a dash at them late. He will be double digits tonight and will only need to get a run in the last 400 metres to make his presence felt.

Albion Park Race 8, No.1 Its Torque Power
This is his best draw since his last win where he raced from behind the leader. Today from the pole he should be behind the leader again and the Wolf thinks he looks the winner on recent runs, especially recent closing sectionals.

Albion Park Race 3, No.1 Swift Approval
From pole he will have options. He won two starts back when he found the lead in a much easier race. The Wolf thinks this isn’t a very strong field and either from the lead or right up on the speed he looks a great chance.

Wolf’s Bolter

Albion Park Race 5, No.5 The Duke Downunder
His times really match up against most runners in this race and although he has drawn barrier five the Wolf thinks over the sprint trip he is capable of death seating in the run and contending in the finish. We could get around $15 for him today which makes him a great each way bet.

Wolf’s Back Breaker

Gloucester Park Race 10, No. 11 Ona Happy Note
He is likely to go up very short tonight given his trial win over Libertybelle Midfrew at Byford on Sunday 11th of September. He rated good time for trainer Ross Olivieri but the Wolf is not keen given his backrow draw over the short trip. On his most recent form in New South Wales he would want to have improved many lengths to be competitive tonight and at his short price he is one we will want to play around.

Feature Race Betting

GROUP 3 – $30,000 2016 Xxxx Gold Kalgoorlie- Boulder Pacing Cup (Kalgoorlie)
The stand start should sort many of these runners out early. Im Full Of Excuses has looked extremely good in winning his last three races. His last win at Gloucester Park came in fast time from the stand start and the Wolf says he is the hardest to beat. Bettor Scoot did it tough last start outside Im Full Of Excuses but still battled on for a placing, he just needs to step away. Erskine Range is the highest class assessed horse in this race who oozes class but will need luck from the 30 metre handicap. A Boy Named Rosie and Danieljohn are exotic players to include.

Media Guild Cup Ms Pace (Gloucester Park)
A very tricky race on paper seeing the way the barriers have fallen. Libertybelle Midfrew was a much improved run last start, the Wolf expects her to lead and she should be super hard to beat especially if we go on her Inter Dominion heat win last Summer where she rated 1.55.7 for the 2536 metre journey. The other mare in the race Tricky Styx should drop in on her back and is a huge chance with the soft run. The hot favourite Beaudiene Boaz is extremely talented but will need to do it too tough tonight. The Bucket List is the only other chance in this race but needs luck.
