Friday Harness Racing Guide
Wolf’s Best Bet
Gloucester Park Race 3, No. 1 Kiwi Legend
Drawn ideally in barrier one and with his strong gate speed The Wolf expects him to lead and win. He is super consistent having been in the placings in nine of his last 11 starts. The huge difference tonight is the draw because he will be in front. This is also a drop in class.
Gloucester Park Race 2, No. 1 Topnotch Mach
He has been racing well without drawing a good barrier. Tonight he should be able to hold the lead from the pole and he looks the winner. He has raced outside the leader on occasions in his last three races and tonight will be a different horse from the front.
Shepparton Race 1, No. 1 Louie Finn
Was a heat winner and tonight from gate one should be able to lead throughout again. His heat win was much faster than the other heat and The Wolf is confident he can make it three straight victories.
Albion Park Race 2, No. 4 Ketut
He is in good form with two wins in his past three starts and last start finished a fast-finishing third when he was severely held up. The Wolf has been taken by his late sectionals and thinks the small field will suit today.
Albion Park Race 5, No. 10 Passionate Fella
He is on the backrow but should get a good run in the line. He is going much better than is form reads. Last start was held up whch cost him any chance in the race. He is a good each way chance at double digits.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Globe Derby Race 1, No. 10 Atticus
He has started a short-priced favourite his last five starts and has been beaten on all five occasions. Tonight’s field is weaker than past runs but he has drawn the backrow and is likely to start a skinny favourite again. Take him on again.
Feature Race Betting
Spring Pace (Gloucester Park)
Elegant Christian is first-up but from gate one he should be able to hold out Bettors Fire from out wide and from the lead The Wolf expects Elegant Christian to be winning. Bettors Fire has been sensational his last two wins and tonight again will be in the firing line but he will find it much harder if he has to race outside the leader. Our Blackbird is slowly working back into form and was desperately unlucky last start. He will need luck again tonight but has a good sprint on him when right. Our Ideal Act was a super win last week while Courage Tells should have a soft run. Both need to be included in the exotics.
Allwoodstud Ms Pace (Gloucester Park)
This is a very open race on paper with the way the draws have gone but The Wolf expects class to rise to the top. Bungalow Bill has drawn the backrow but should get a good run through behind the very fast beginner Paid Twice. Thats Rite produced a much improved effort last start and will take plenty of catching again if he can find the lead. Smokey The Bandit is working back into peak form and was held up last start. Expect improvement. Change Gear and Ideal Justice will need luck but are exotic players.
