Friday Harness Racing Guide
Wolf’s Best Bet
Bendigo Race 2, No.1 Midaswell
Has the plum draw tonight and The Wolf thinks he is a huge chance of leading throughout. He showed very good gate speed at his first start two weeks ago and should be further improved after he went down narrowly and had done plenty of work in the run outside the leader.
Bendigo Race 8, No.9 Valbarann
Has placed her last two starts after being checked in both of them. Last start she led and only got ran down late in the race and they rated 1.55.7. Tonight from the backrow she should find a good position in the running line and has a good chance of running over them late at juicy odds.
Albion Park Race 2, No. 6 Its Torque Power
He has been terribly unlucky his past three starts. Last start he should have finished much closer but was held up at a vital stage. Today he will enjoy the small field and will come with one run at them late. The Wolf thinks he can get over the top of them.
Albion Park Race 6, No. 1 Major Lexus
Was a good winner two starts back at this track. Looks as though he may be crossed early here but he should have every chance on the sprint lane late. He has a good turn of foot when held up for one run at his rivals.
Bendigo Race 7, No.1 Sound The Alarm
Last start he sat parked outside the leader and finished third to the short priced favourite who has drawn the backrow. Tonight from the pole he is some chance of holding the lead and he will take catching at double figure odds from that spot over the mile.
Wolf’s Back Breaker
Gloucester Park Race 1, No.8 Chicago Bull
He is a star four-year-old who is going for 10 wins on end but tonight he looks a risk from the wide draw at skinny odds. His stablemate is drawn to lead and should run them along and Ohoka Squire looks the death seat horse which will mean Chicago Bull will be coming three wide. He is not over the line.
Feature Race Betting
Milne Horse Museli Ms Pace (Gloucester Park)
Rising star Risk looks very hard to beat tonight. In the small field he will be able to come with one run and on his three wins so far in this country he looks a star in the making. This race is a stepping stone to an Inter Dominion campaign. Smokey The Bandit looks the likely leader over the sprint trip and will be there for a long way. Ima Connoisseur will need to do work from his draw but is going very well while Change Gear and Our Jericho are place hopes.
GROUP 3 – $35,000 Howard Porter Memorial (Gloucester Park)
Bettors Fire looks the leader in this Group Three event and will go out a short priced favourite but The Wolf is really warming to Phoenix Warrior. Phoenix Warrior will have a very soft run on Bettors Fire’s back and if he can get a run in the straight he is the one to beat. Kyle Harper on Bettors Fire will look to hold Phoenix Warrior in a pocket for as long as he can. Tricky Styx is going to need luck but she has a devastating turn of foot from three back the pegs. The Bucket List and Our Sky Major are the exotic plays.
