WWE Betting Preview: Summer Slam
Summer Slam is only a few weeks away and The Wolf previews all the big bouts with William Hill betting on the big matches.
Brock Lesnar v Randy Orton: Randy Orton ($2.30)
It’s been an interesting time for Brock Lesnar after the WWE granted him leave to fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 before returning for Summer Slam. Lesnar won by decision but it was later revealed he tested positive to a banned substance. Lesnar is exempt from the WWE’s Wellness Policy and is free to take his place at Summer Slam against Randy Orton. Orton returned from a nine-month injury lay-off at Battleground and made his intentions clear he is ready for Lesnar with a RKO on Chris Jericho. The Wolf loves an underdog and thinks Orton can topple the ever-popular Lesnar, who could be attracting the wrong headlines for the WWE.
WWE Universal Championship – Finn Balor v Seth Rollins: Finn Balor ($2.45)
Smackdown’s Dean Ambrose retained the WWE World Championship at Battleground in a Triple threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins leaving RAW without a world title. It was decided by Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley that they would create the WWE Universal Championship as a result. Rollins was an automatic selection for the match with his opponent determined by two Fatal 4-way matches. New RAW draftee Finn Balor ultimately defeated Roman Reigns for his shot at Ambrose and the Universal Championship. The Wolf is tipping that McMahon and Foley have high hopes for their No.5 pick and he can cause the upset over Rollins.
WWE World Championship – Dean Ambrose v Dolph Ziggler: Dean Ambrose ($1.20)
Many experts were expecting it to be Bray Wyatt taking on Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship but the honour went to the popular Dolph Ziggler, who hasn’t seen a main event since his Survivor Series win in 2014. Ambrose showed his credentials at Battleground against better opponents in Reigns and Rollins and should retain his belt at Summer Slam.
WWE Women’s Championship – Sasha Banks v Charlotte: Sasha Banks ($1.20)
Charlotte defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a Triple threat match for the inaugural WWE Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 32. Banks has since gained her revenge at Battleground and currently holds the Women’s Championship belt after defeating Charlotte on Raw in Pittsburgh. Banks has all the momentum at the moment and should retain her belt at the short odds.
Best: Dean Ambrose ($1.20)
Value: Finn Balor ($2.45)
