Racing and Sports Tips – 15/1/18

bet on racing and sports

Here are The Wolf’s best racing and sports tips!

The Wolf’s best bet races well on his home track and has been ultra-consistent early in his career. Looks well placed today.

Taree Thoroughbred Bet (4:20pm)

Alot Like Home (Race 5, No.2) received good support first-up at Scone and rewarded the punters with a solid victory.

He wasn’t disgraced when he went to Randwick two starts back, and it also coincided with the first time he has missed the placings in his seven-start career (7:3-2-1).

Looks extremely well placed here at his home track (4:1-2-1) and would relish any rain if it were to arrive, with two wins from three starts on the heavy going.

Major player today with even luck from the draw.

Nowra Thoroughbred Bet (4pm)

Mad Fox (Race 4, No.4) has been frustrating to follow of late, finishing runner-up in his last three starts.

He was pipped late at  Canberra last start and will be suited by the drop back in trip today.

The form around Intuition two starts back should stack up, with Intuition going on to win at Randwick on Boxing Day.

Look for him to set up a cracking tempo in front and shake the bridesmaid tag today.

NFL: Jacksonville @ Pittsburgh (5:05am AEDT)

The Jaguars won a very ugly Wild Card game over the Bills by 10-3 and will have to play much better on offence if they are to challenge the Steelers on their home turf.

Meanwhile, the Steelers will be keen to make amends after they were embarrassed 30-9 at Heinz Field by the Jaguars back in Week 5.

It was an afternoon to forget for Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, who threw five interceptions in one of the worst performances of his career.

It’s been well-documented about the success that the Jags have on defensive side of the ball, but they need more from their QB Blake Bortles if they are to beat the Steelers for a second time in Pittsburgh this season.

Bortles was terrible in the Wild Card win when he had to throw the ball, but remarkably he led the team in rushing, with 88 yards from 10 carries.

The Jags aren’t getting enough respect here and should have plenty of success running the ball.

Rookie running back Leonard Fournette gashed the Steelers for 181 rushing yards and 2 TDs in the 21-point win in Week 5.

The Jaguars are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Pittsburgh, while the Steelers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games.

Take the Jaguars with +7 here.

Traralgon Greyhound Bet (6:58pm AEDT)

Trap Queen (Race 11, No.3) has been ultra-consistent of late and loves racing at this track/distance (6:2-2-1).

She’s had two wins and three minor placings from her last five starts at the track.

Box 3 is the only query, but she did win here from the same box four starts back.

Big threat tonight and it would be a surprise to not see her fighting out the finish.
