Racing and Sports Tips – 9/9/17
Here are The Wolf’s best racing and sports tips!
The Wolf’s best bet won the Listed Rosebud Stakes by over a length & will be hard to beat in The Run To The Rose.
Rosehill Thoroughbred Bet (3:50pm AEST)
Menari (Race 7, No.5) kicked off his Golden Rose campaign by winning the Listed Rosebud Stakes by over a length.
He wasn’t fully tested that day and won with ease against a quality field.
His fourth placing in the Golden Slipper reads very well for this and whilst he meets a much tougher field compared to last start, he looks the one to beat.
He’s got the wide draw here, but if Josh Parr can slot him in early he’ll take plenty of running down.
Recommended Price: $2.45
Rosehill Thoroughbred Bet (12:45pm AEST)
Suncraze (Race 2, No.1) is a very talented gelding from the Melanie O’gorman Yard who broke a string of six second placings with a win last start in the Highway Handicap at Randwick.
Since then he’s won a trial by nearly five lengths and whilst it was against a relatively weak field in the bush, the manner in which he won was very impressive.
He’s ready to win first up and any improvement off his last start victory should see him winning.
Recommended Price: $2.60
AFL: Sydney v Essendon (4:20pm)
Sydney go in the biggest favourites of Week 1 of the finals and so they should!
Sydney enter the finals with more momentum than any other team despite finishing sixth on the ladder, with wins in 14 of their last 16 matches.
The Swans have not conceded more than 85 points in that stretch of 16 matches and have a huge home field advantage.
Sydney are 15-10 ATS when favoured at home by more than four goals and 13-7 ATS at home after scoring 100+ points.
The Bombers have covered just 5 of their last 15 interstate game and have had no answer for one man in particular – Buddy.
He booted 10 in the final game of the season and had 6 against the Bombers two meetings back.
Look for the Bombers to fade dramatically in the second half and the Swans to cover.
Recommended Price: $1.91
The Meadows Greyhound Bet (7:13pm AEST)
Liebig Street (Race 1, No. 8) produced a remarkable win at the track last start.
He was slow out of the boxes and timed his run to perfection to salute right on the post.
The step up to 725 metres will suit as will the wider draw tonight.
Looks a great hope of going back-to-back.
Recommended Price: $2.45
