World Cup, Match 39: India vs Zimbabwe at Auckland
India are storming towards the quarter finals as one of only two undefeated teams at the tournament so far, along with New Zealand. There have been no weaknesses in India’s game – their batting has clicked, their bowling attack has been both potent and frugal, and their fielding has been exemplary. India have already booked a quarter final berth but will be looking to enter the final eight with all their momentum intact. This is bad news for Zimbabwe who have been courageous but lacking in class at this tournament. Zimbabwe already have no chance of qualifying for the final eight so they have little to play for. India should dominate them to complete a clean sweep of the group stage.
Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams vs India:
Zimbabwe have been a two-man gang at this World Cup. Wicketkeeper batsman Taylor and strokemaker Williams have been in sensational form with the blade and have contributed a huge proportion of their side’s runs. If India’s in-form attack can shut this pair down the match will be very one-sided.
