WBBL: Semi Final 2 – Sydney Sixers v Adelaide Strikers, Friday 3:10pm AEDT at Adelaide Oval
Last year’s premiers, the Sydney Sixers ($1.57), have finished the regular season on top once again, and the champions take on the big bolter of the competition in the Adelaide Strikers (who were $10 to win prior to the season starting). Can the Strikers continue their giant killing run…

Similar to the previous semi-final, it is a case of the lower ranked team hosting the final and it is just another little factor tipping the scales in the outsiders favour.
While the last two clashes between the sides, that was only a few days ago, resulted in two comfortable wins for the Sixers, the Wolf thinks the value lies with the Adelaide Strikers, who have a formidable, and well balanced, bowling attack. Much of their hopes rest with the batting exploits of Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates, but if these two fire, the Strikers have several world-class bowlers capable of defending both big and small totals.
The competition’s premier fast bowler, Marizanne Kapp, and her South African teammate Dane Van Niekerk have both left for International duties, and that is a big blow for the Sixers; though that was softened somewhat with the return of former Australian player Sarah Coyte.
The Sixers have much greater batting depth, and are justifiably short odds; but if the top order of the Strikers is up for a fight, this game will be closer than the odds suggest.
The Sixers have been living up to their name, and have smacked the most sixes in the competition with 40 from their 14 games; 13 more than their opponents. Five Sixers players have hit at least 4 sixes, while only one Striker (Sophie Devine) has managed that many. Whatever way the game goes, the Sixers are far more likely to clear the fence.

The Strikers allowed Healy to build her innings far too easily in the two games before the semi-final, with the opener smashing 169 runs from the two clashes at a strike-rate of 143. Given Ellyse Perry and Ash Gardener are both in somewhat of a form slump, the Wolf thinks Healy is the safe play.
Bet: Alyssa Healy ($3.20)
Top Strikers Batsman
The Strikers finally saw the light and promoted their most dangerous batter to the Opening position, with immediate effect. Devine is one of the most powerful hitters in the world and she just might have it raining sixes at the Adelaide Oval. The Wolf thinks she is primed for a quickfire 50 on the big stage.
Bet: Sophie Devine ($3.20)
