The Wolf’s best bet saluted at Mornington yesterday paying a healthy $5.60! He heads to Sandown for his best bet on Wednesday!
Sandown Thoroughbred Bet (1pm AEST)
King’s Authority (Race 2, No.1) brings Merchant Navy form to this and if he can perform at that level here he’ll prove very hard to get past.
He’s city placed on two occasions and also boasts a win at Flemington; albeit in 2016. He’s placed in a trial leading into this and has given every indication to The Wolf that he is ready to fire first up from a lengthy spell.
This is a much weaker field compared to what he has faced previously and The Wolf is expecting him to kick off his 2018 campaign with a win.
Lycurgus (Race 1, No. 7) is a Listed winner over 2400m and if he translates that form to this race he’ll be winning. This horse inhales the 2400m, having placed twice over the distance and winning once – from four attempts.
His best run last prep saw him place behind Vassal over 2400m; which is a very good form reference for this as Vassal has since gone on to win the Listed Christmas Cup at Randwick.
Lycurgus is third up into this and with Daniel Moor aboard should prove hard to beat.
The Wolf goes out wide this Wednesday for his best bets around the country. There is value to be had and he has found it. Check out his best bets from the Gold Coast, Balaklava & Canberra! Wolf’s Be...
