Racing and Sports Tips – 2/08/16

bet on racing and sports

Here are The Wolf’s best racing and sports tips!

Warracknabeal Thoroughbred Bet (3:30pm AEST)

Akerboy (Race 7, No.5) can get his first win this prep at big odds.

This gelding has a proven record on rain affected ground with 3 wins from 6 starts on heavy ground.

Raced wide without cover throughout last time out and still managed to work home well.

That was over 1000m and he is definitely better suited to the six furlongs.

The 3kg claim is a huge plus, especially with the heavy track, and has drawn perfectly in barrier 5.

With the stars aligned, an upset win is on the cards.

Confidence Level: 3-Chips

Recommended Price: $9.00

Menangle Harness Bet (4:48pm AEST)

Rodanthe Nights (Race 6, No.6) has had terrible luck with barriers of recent times.

Although he is a horse who needs luck today from barrier six if he can be close enough in the run The Wolf thinks he can give us a great sight at double figure odds.

Has the ability to be right in this one and at this price we cannot let him go around without an each way bet.

Confidence Level: 3-5-Chips

Recommended Price: $15.00

Gawler Greyhound Bet (2:37pm AEST)

Team Roper (Race 8, No.6) is taking his talents to Gawler.

All of this chasers 26 starts have been at Albion Park but the time for change has arrived.

His last two wins have come by more than 5 lengths and it has been 10 runs since he has finished worse than second.

The success of this greyhound should come as no surprise – after all he is a son of Fabregas who won 12 of  his 13.

Has the pedigree and the pace to make light work of this bunch.

Confidence Level: 4-5-Chips

Recommended Price: $1.80

FFA Cup: Wanderers v Phoenix (8:00pm)

The Wanderers begin their FFA Cup campaign against fellow A-League side Wellington at Campbelltown Stadium.

The Phoenix have been red hot in their pre season matches and is comes as no surprise with the key signings of Barbarouses and Finkler in the off season.

They scored a brace each in a 7-1 win with a exquisite Finkler free kick handing them victory in the Capital Cup against Beijing BG.

The Wanders have played just a single match leading into this one albeit a 2-1 win over the Roar. Japanese forward Jumpei may make his debut but with several more matches in their legs The Wolf says the visitors are huge value in this one so back Wellington to WIN.

Confidence Level: 3-5-Chips

Recommended Price: $3.20
