Racing and Sports Tips – 10/1/18

bet on racing and sports

Here are The Wolf’s best racing and sports tips!

The Wolf’s best bet was a dominant winner at Randwick last start and can go on with the job at Canterbury today.

Canterbury Thoroughbred Bet (4:20pm)

Regine (Race 5, No.7) was a dominant winner at Randwick last start and The Wolf is confident she’ll be repeating that performance here.

She sat just behind the leader at Randwick that day before peeling out in the straight to win by just over a length.

She meets a similar class of field to what she defeated last start and with Blake Shinn retaining the ride she is the clear top pick to win the race.

Confidence Level:

Recommended Price: $2.80

Sandown Thoroughbred Bet (3:55pm)

Evopex (Race 6, No.9) put in an eye-catching run last start over 1600m at Sandown and stepping up to 1800m here should see him cross the line in first.

He’s drawn well in barrier 4 where Stephen Baster should be looking to settle just behind the speed before peeling out wide in the straight to give chase.

This is a much tougher field than what he faced last start, but in his favour is that he is stepping up in distance and having drawn barrier 4 he shouldn’t find himself doing too much work throughout the race.

Confidence Level:

Recommended Price: $6.50

BBL: Heat v Hurricanes (7:40pm AEDT)

The Hobart Hurricanes won their third straight match in the Big Bash and are now within touching distance of the top half of the table.

They will be traveling to Brisbane and take on the Brisbane Heat who are currently placed immediately above them.

The Brisbane Heat will once again be without Chris Lynn for at least the next three weeks after his calf injury was diagnosed to be more severe than initially thought.

The Heat still has plenty of firepower, though, with McCullum, Burns, Ross, and Cutting all in excellent form.

They have also probably gotten somewhat used to playing without Chris Lynn because of his frequent injuries and so will have a fallback plan in place.

The Brisbane Heat batsmen like the pace on the ball and that is something they will get plenty of at the Gabba.

Their batting is strong even without Lynn and the Heat have the bowlers to stop the Hurricanes from making it four in a row.

Confidence Level:

Recommended Price: $1.62

The Meadows Greyhound Bet (1:57pm AEDT)

Henry (Race 6, No.5) is racing in career best form, finishing in his last six starts.

He has won twice and finished second at four runs at this track/distance.

Only bad luck out of Box 5 will prevent him from recording back to back wins.

Confidence Level:

Recommended Price: $2.60
