Bella Vino (Race 3, No.9) is knocking on the door to win her maiden.
She’s a very sharp filly. First-up over this track and trip she was beaten by only Generalissimo who has franked the form since by winning again and then running well in the Heritage at Randwick. Bella Vino has run fifth since then but she didn’t quite get the 1100m.
Should lead this field up from the inside draw and with just 52.5kg on her back after the claim, will take plenty of catching.
Real Love (Race 2, No.3) had handy form back in New Zealand.
The Wolf is expecting a very big run from her first-up in Australia and thinks she is a huge chance of finding the lead and winning this race. Her times are fast back in New Zealand which should ensure she is more than competitive against this field.
This week The Wolf is going with a man who has been in scintillating form. Paul Casey has been striking the ball as good as anyone over the last month and it has shown with runner up finishes at the Deutsche Bank and BMW Championships.
The Wolf loves the fact that he has been able to perform under pressure – he shot 67 in the final round of both The Masters and the PGA Championship which consequently resulted in him finishing 4th and 10th respectively. He also finished 5th here last year after opening with a 65 and at $17 he is the bet of the week.
