Racing and Sports Tips – 9/12/17

bet on racing and sports

Here are The Wolf’s best racing and sports tips!

The Wolf’s best bet is a five-chip special in the G1 Kingston Town Classic at Ascot.

Ascot Thoroughbred Bet (7:50pm AEDT)

Black Heart Bart (Race 8, No.1) just missed in the Railway Stakes but meeting a very similar field at weight for age in the Kingston Town, he should be too good for them this time.

His Railway performance under the topweight was simply outstanding, the leader simply had too soft a lead up front with a light weight, that won’t happen again.

At weight for age, the tempo again might be slow but he will have sufficient early speed to hold his position from the inside draw, meaning he can get the perfect run into the race.

The 1800m holds no fears, having won an Underwood Stakes over this trip last year.

Bart fully deserves the coveted five chip rating The Wolf has given him.

Rosehill Thoroughbred Bet (1:15pm AEDT)

Heliosphere (Race 2, No.2) returned with a terrific first up placing over 1200m and looks primed to go one better today over what is a much more suitable trip for him.

As a two year old he debuted over 1400m, before stepping up to a mile and winning at Warwick Farm.

The fact trainer Gerald Ryan elected to start him over a shorter trip this time in is a big positive, and he certainly hit the line nicely over that shorter trip.

The winner of that race, Pretty Fast, then came out at Doomben last week and won in Listed grade by a huge margin.

Kerrin McEvoy will have to work out a strategy from the wide draw but he does have tactical flexibility – Heliosphere won at two leading all the way, but he has run well coming from behind as well.

Recommended Price: $2.65

A-League: Brisbane v Wellington (Sat 5:35pm AEDT)

The Phoenix are developing a very costly habit – letting winning leads slip!

Last week was the second time this season that they led by multiple goals and failed to win.

Finding the back of the net has not been an issue for them but defence is another story all together.

Their 14 goals scored gives them the 3rd best attack in the A-League but it is the 20 conceded (most in league) which has them glued to the bottom of the ladder.

There have been 3 or more goals in their last 5 matches with at least 5 goals in 5 of them!

The pair played out a 3-3 draw in Wellington a month ago and this shapes as another shootout.

Over 2.5 is 11-2 in the last 13 meetings and The Wolf is ready to roll out all 5 chips on it when they meet at Suncorp.

The Meadows Greyhound Bet (8:38pm AEDT)

Aston Selena (Race 5, No.3) is flying of late, winning her past two starts and looks well placed tonight.

She’ll need to ping the lids out of Box 3 and take up the running from out in front.

Her strike rate is very good, winning 11 of her 21 starts and can add another win to the tally tonight.

Recommended Price: $2.40
