NBA Tips: Cavs @ Celtics (Game 7)

LeBron James did it all on his own to force a series decider but does he have enough in the tank to win a Game 7 in Boston…

NBA: Cavs @ Celtics – Game 7 (Mon 10:35am)

The Boston Garden has played host to it’s fair share of series deciders, and it will again be the centre of attention for what promises to be an epic. We find ourselves back in Boston thanks to one man, or shall we say ‘The King’. LeBron put on yet another vintage performance in Game 6 with 46 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. He made it clear from the outset that he would take matters into his own hands and he will be doing the same in the series decider.

Can LeBron do it all on his own…

In Boston – The Wolf’s response to that is NO! He had a 42 point triple-double in Game 2 yet the Cavs still lost by 13 points. The home side is 6-0 both straight up and ATS in this series with an average winning margin of almost 17 points. It is easy to say that history doesn’t apply with this being LeBron in Game 7 but The Wolf can not ignore the numbers. The Celtics are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 following a loss and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 at home.

Will LeBron’s supporting cast show up…

This is the big unknown and the factor likely to determine the outcome of the game. With Kevin Love rules out due to concussion, the supporting cast MUST contribute if the Cavs are to stand any chance. They have been terrible on the road throughout the series. JR Smith has averaged 2 points per game in the 3 games in Boston and made just 3 of 22 attempts from beyond the arc! Kover is averaging just over 7ppg while Hill only 5ppg. It is hard to see where the help will come from.

Does home court really mean that much…

You betcha, and even more so for the Celtics. Boston are a perfect 10-0 at home in the playoffs and the fact that the line makers in Vegas are willing to take LeBron on says enough. The money has poured in for the Cavs on the back of LeBron’s elimination game dominance but it has not prevented the bookies from keeping the Celtics as favourites. Few teams in the history of the NBA have rolled into The Boston Garden and won a Game 7 with the Celtics winning the last 8 Game 7’s at the venue.

Can LeBron make it 8 NBA Finals in a row…

There are no words left do describe the level of play that Lebron has produced and The Wolf has nothing but respect for him, but he doesn’t have the help necessary to get over the line. He could get 50 in this game and the Cavs still lose. The smart money will be on Boston.

Wolf’s NBA Playoffs Best Bet Record: 35-30
