NBA Tips – 7th March

The Rockets take their win streak with them to Oklahoma City. Can Harden’s former team-mates bring their win streak to an end…

NBA Feature Previews

1. Houston @ Oklahoma City (12:05pm)
The Rockets extended their win streak to 15 with a come from behind win over the Celtics. Next stop OKC and a meeting with Harden’s former employers. It has been a series where road wins have been few and far between. The home team is 8-2 straight up in the last 10 meetings and it has been far from the scoring spree that one would expect. The Under is 3-0 in the last 3 meetings and a whopping 13-3 in the Rockets last 16 against West teams. The Unders angles don’t stop there… The Under is 13-3 in the Thunder last 16 against teams with a win % above .600 and 5-1 in the last 6 meetings on Oklahoma City. Harden and Westbrook both had huge games when the two sides last met combining for 60 points, 25 assists and 14 rebounds. We will take them in a player prop multi.
Tip: Under 223 points ($1.91)

2. Denver @ Dallas (12:35pm)
Ask the Warriors and Rockets the one side they do not want to meet in the first round of the playoffs and the answer you will get is Denver. Currently the 8th seed, the Nuggets are one of the most dangerous sides in the West. They are versatile, deep and can take the game away from you. That makes them dangerous! Yes, they can be complacent but with just 3 wins separating 3rd – 10th in the West standings, they will put the pedal to the metal in Dallas. The Over is 7-0 in the Nuggets last 7 after a win, 5-1 in their last 6 road games and 13-3 in their last 16. Dallas don’t do a great job defending the three and rank 27th in fastbreak defence. The Wolf says they are in trouble!
Tip: Denver -4.5 ($1.92)

3. New Orleans @ LA Clippers (2:35pm)
No Boogie, no worries! The Pelicans have won their last 8 and are arguably playing better basketball with a single big on the floor. With Rondo at the point and Holiday as the shooting guard they look a more complete side. It allows them to play a pace and space style which suits Alvin Gentry’s coaching philosophy. They have scored 121 or more in their last 6 and it is no surprise to see the Overs trends. The Over is 6-0 in their last 6 and 18-6 in their last 24 against West teams. In addition, the Over is 20-7 when they are on 1 days rest – as is the case for their trip to LA. The Clippers will certainly do their bit. Over is 6-1 in their last 7 and 25-11 in their last 36 inter-conference games. The total may seem high but The Wolf says they will be eclipsing 250!
Tip: Over 237 points ($1.91)
