NBA Tips – 5th April

A very interesting day coming up in the NBA as the Raptors host the Celtics with a chance to all but seal top seed in the Eastern Conference.

NBA Feature Previews

1. Philadelphia @ Detroit (09:05am)
Philly crushed the Nets yesterday but even better was the fact that all of their starters sat out the 4th quarter. It is great news as they are on a second of a back to back and they are now odds on to get home court in the opening round of the playoffs. They are on a 11 game win streak and are 9-0 ATS in their last 9. It gets better… The 76ers have won 4 of their last 5 when on 0 days rest and have shown that they can win without Embiid. Simmons has taken his game to another level in the absence of the big man and Wolfy is expecting the young Aussie to tear shreds off the Pistons. Get right around the 76ers.
Tip: Philadelphia -1 ($1.92)

2. Boston @ Toronto (10:05am)
The battle for the top seed will come to an end north of the border. In an ideal world we would have like both teams to be at full strength and well rested but that will not be the case. Both sides are on the second of a back to back following a road loss and the Celtics continue to do it without several of their starting 5. Being short-handed didn’t stop the Celtics from beating the Raptors by double digits at the TD Garden over the weekend but The Wolf says it is time for revenge. The home team is 6-0 straight up and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. It comes as no surprise this season with both franchises posting dominant records at home. Toronto are 31-7 at home this season with a league leading margin of victory of 10 points per game. They rank 3rd in points per game and no-one has been able to prevent them from filling it up at Air Canada Centre. They are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games when facing teams with a winning record and go one step closer to the top seed in the Eastern Conference thanks to a big win.
Tip: Toronto -8 ($1.92)

3. San Antonio @ LA Lakers (12:35pm)
The Spurs will be back at Staples Center for the second night after going down in a nail biter to the Clippers yesterday. They led for all but the final 45 seconds but we should not be surprised after The Wolf tipped us into the Clippers. They have consistently struggled against teams with a winning record, and although the Lakers do not fall into that category, The Wolf believes the Lakers have what it takes to trouble the Spurs. The Lakers are 3-0 both straight up and ATS in the last 3 meetings while San Antonio have now lost 10 of their last 11 road games. Spurs are also 3-7 ATS in their last 10 when backing up while the Lakers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 at home to teams with a road win percentage below .400. Even coach Pop’s bag of tricks will not be enough to get them over the line.
Tip: Lakers WIN ($1.95)
