Just the one game today with Game 2 between the Rockets and Jazz. The Jazz were run off their feet in the season opener but The Wolf is predicting a much more competitive affair this time around.
NBA Playoffs Previews
1. Utah @ Houston (Thur 10:05am)
Fatigue was always going to be a factor for the Jazz in Game 1. It had a direct impact on their defence, in particular beyond the arc. The Rockets shot 53% from beyond the arc – an area where they finished +30. Utah will not be able to match them in that department but can ill-afford to allow such a substantial difference. They have had time to adjust and The Wolf expects a different Jazz unit in Game 2. They are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 when on 2 days rest while the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 when in the same scenario. The expected improvement on defence can only mean one things – Unders! The Under is 12-5 in the Jazz last 17 when on 2 days rest and 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Similarly, it is 8-2 in the Rockets last 10 following a straight up win and 18-6 in their last 24 home games. Harden and CP3 both run a lot of clock when in the high pick and roll which again caters to the Unders. The Jazz will also look to minimise the Rockets fastbreak which means more easy rebounds for Capela. He has been a beast on the boards, averaging 14.2 per game in the playoffs. We saw him get the better of Towns in the series against the Timberwolves and Rudy Gobert is shaping as his next victim. The Jazz to keep it close in a low scoring encounter.
Best: Under 204.5 points ($1.91)
Value: Utah +10.5 & Under 199.5 ($4.80)
Prop: Clint Capela 14+ rebounds ($2.15)
Wolf’s NBA Playoffs Best Bet Record: 26-18
