NBA Tips – 25th April

Philly and Golden State look to close out their respective series at home but all eyes will be in the battle between the Celtics and Bucks in what is a pivotal Game 5!

NBA Feature Previews

1. Milwaukee @ Boston (Wed 9:05am)
What was shaping as a sweep has turned into a genuine series. Both sides have dominated at home but that could change in a pivotal Game 5. The Bucks know exactly what to expect now and have worked two key figures into the rotation – Jabari Parker and Thon Maker. Jabari’s minutes have gone from 12 per game in Boston to 27 per game in the two games at home. Similarly, Maker played just 1 minute in Boston, but that has increased to almost 30! He is averaging 11 points and an astonishing 5 blocks in his last two and The Wolf expects him to get just as many minutes in Boston. The two players have changed the dynamic of the Bucks. Maker provides a shot blocker while Jabari can run the floor and create plays in isolation. The added length makes it harder for the Celtics to run half court sets and will result in a faster pace. The Over is 14-2 in the Bucks last 16 against East teams and 13-3 in their last 16 on the road. The stars are aligning for the Overs as it is also 6-0 in the Celtics last 6 at the TD Garden and 10-1 in their last 11 overall. The Over is 4-0 in the series with an average total of 215 points yet they still refuse to push the set total beyond 205. The Wolf says we will be launching into the Overs!
Best: Over 204.5 points ($1.92)
Prop: Milwaukee WIN & Over 219.5 points ($11.00)

2. Miami @ Philadelphia (Wed 10:05am)
The 76ers not only took a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4, they have made a statement to the rest of the Eastern Conference. They are no longer ‘The Process’, they are ‘THE NOW’. They had 7 players score 10 or more points and one could argue that they have the deepest roster in the NBA. The duo of Belinelli and Ilyasova continue to make plays as part of the second unit while Embiid has all but removed Whiteside from being a factor in the series. The double digit line may look big on paper but The Wolf says it isn’t. The 76ers are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 following a ATS win and 20-7 ATS in their last 27 at home. The Heat on the other hand are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 when playing on 2 days rest and 3-8 ATS in their last 11. A vintage D-Wade performance was virtually the only way they managed a win this series and they will be going home empty handed here. Simmons is averaging 19 points, 11 rebounds and 9.8 assists in this series and is fresh off his first career playoff triple/double. Look for him to replicate that performance in front of a rampant home crowd.
Best: Philadelphia -10 ($1.92)
Prop: Multi – Simmons 10+ assists/10+ rebounds ($2.80)

3. San Antonio @ Golden State (Wed 12:35pm)
A Manu Ginobili throwback game has extended the series but the Warriors won’t exactly mind. With the Pelicans awaiting the winner, the additional game allows more rest for Steph Curry – who may just be needed if the Warriors are to get past the Pelicans. Why are we talking about the Pelicans… because this series is over! The return to Oracle will also bring about the return to form of the Warriors. The Spurs have lost their last 10 road games dating back to the regular season and have gone a miserable 1-9 ATS in that stretch. The Warriors are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings and as we have seen in blowout games, there is no defence played in the final quarter whatsoever. Durant is having his way this series, averaging 29 points and 9 rebounds on the back of 50% shooting from the floor and 93% from the stripe. He will come out with some real intent in the first quarter, leading The Wolf to believe they will post a dominant wire to wire win.
Best: Wire to Wire – Golden State ($1.90)
Prop: Multi – Durant 30+ points/8+ rebounds ($3.06)
