NBA Tips – 22nd April

The Blazers could be the first team sent home! Can they find a way to extend the series and take it back for Portland…

NBA Feature Previews

1. Philadelphia @ Miami (Sun 4:35am)
The return of Joel Embiid yielded instant results as the 76ers wrestled back command of the series. The Wolf noted that his return would open up the 3-ball and it did just that as they drained 18 of 34 from beyond the arc. They have now scored 120 or more in 4 of their last 5 and simply have too many weapons for Miami. Whiteside has been a non-factor in this series and he is again set to play less than 15 minutes. It means pace and space for both teams which heavily favours the 76ers. Belinelli is averaging 3.5 made 3’s in his last 8 and will again be a factor off the bench. Philly improved to 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 following a ATS win. Philly to take a 3-1 lead back home and close it out in five.
Best: Philadelphia -3 ($1.92)
Prop: Philadelphia -5.5 & Over 219.5 ($4.40)

2. Portland @ New Orleans (Sun 7:05am)
You can shut the door on the Blazers because this series will not be going back to Portland. The scary part for the Blazers is the fact that Davis hasn’t even been the Pelicans best. They haven’t needed him to be great as Rondo, Holiday and in particular Mirotic, have been incredible. He is averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds this series with 11 made 3’s. Rondo has been toying with them while Holiday has shut down Lillard. The Blazers have lost their fight and their spirit has been taken away from them. They are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games while the Pelicans have covered their last 8 dating back to the regular season. Not only will this series come to an end – it will be a blowout.
Best: New Orleans -7 ($1.92)
Prop: Rajon Rondo 12+ assists ($2.00)

3. Houston @ Minnesota (Sun 9:35am)
Minnesota would have drawn some confidence after losing Game 1 by just 3 points but what happened in Game 2 will have left them with no answers. Harden shot 2 of 18 from the floor for just 12 points yet the Rockets won by 20! The Wolf has singled out Karl-Anthony Towns in the past and will say it again.. KAT is the perfect acronym to describe his game. He has not gone to the hoop once this series and has restricted himself to the perimeter and fadeaways. Houston has won the last 8 between the two franchises and will make it 10 in what will be a sweep.
Tip: Houston -5.5 ($1.92)
Prop: 1st Quarter Over 54.5 points ($1.86)

4. Oklahoma City @ Utah (Sun 12:05am)
We heat to Salt Lake City for the game of the day in what shapes to be a 7 game series. Utah scored themselves a split but Wolfy has labelled the 4.5 as a big line! They are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games with the Thunder 5-2 ATS in their last 7 on the road. One thing we did see in Game 2 is the Jazz defence. They held the Thunder to 40% shooting and finished +10 for points in the paint – holding the Thunder to just 40. Even more impressive was the job they did on ‘OK3’ holding the trio to 33% shooting. The Under is 8-0 in the last 8 meetings in Utah and 12-4 in the Jazz’s last 16 when on 2 days rest. This is an all important Game 3 and The Wolf is expecting defence to reign supreme.
Tip: Under 207 points ($1.91)
Prop: Oklahoma City +5.5 & Under 199.5 ($4.60)
