NBA Tips – 21st November

Denver, Washington, Minnesota and Detroit are all on the second of a back to back. Find out what effect it will have on their respective matches.

1. LA Clippers @ New York (11:35am)

The Clippers are in a hole that’s getting deeper. They have lost their last 8 and are 1-7 ATS in that stretch. They are likely to get a huge boost though and it’s the return of Patrick Beverley. It’s not ideal for the Knicks who have lost their last 10 against the Clippers. That being said they have won 7 of 10 at home this season with the Cavs, Rockets and Pistons the only sides to win at MSG to date. The Knicks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 at home and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 when taking on teams from the West. For the Clippers there is one man in particular that Wolfy wants to point the finger at – Austin Rivers. He is as inefficient as they come, takes far too many shots for a guy that cannot make a bucket and with just 3 assists per game while running the point in his last 5 he is below par across the board. New York to end their winless run against the Clips.

Tip: New York WIN ($1.83)

2. Oklahoma City @ New Orleans (12:05pm)

We’re now 15 games into OK3 and their 7-8 record is little to brag about. They are just 2-6 on the road and have lost their last 4. Their biggest problem is their offensive efficiency down the stretch. If we look at their average scoring margin on a quarter by quarter basis we will see just how much their game deteriorates down the stretch. 1st quarter +5.2 (2nd), 2nd quarter +1.4 (6th), 3rd quarter -0.9 (16th), 4th quarter +0.1 (15th). Few teams are quicker out of the blocks but they are yet to figure it out when the game slows into half court in the final 6 minutes. They are unlikely to have problems scoring against the Pelicans who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league coming in at 27th in defensive efficiency. The Wolf has been very candid about his opinion of them as a unit and his thoughts are justified with the Pelicans allowing 125 and 146 points in their last two. The Over is 6-1 in Pelicans last 7 against teams with a losing record and 5-0 in their last 5 when hosting the Thunder. They give up a stack of points to guards and The Wolf is expecting Westbrook to have a field day. He averaged 34.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 10 assists in the 4 meetings against the Pelicans last season. Get ready for a Westbrook classic!

Tip: Over 214.5 points ($1.91)

1. Boston @ Dallas (12:35pm)

The Celtics win streak now stands at 15 and with fixtures against Dallas, Miami and Orlando to come there is every possibility that they will extend it. Just 2 of their last 15 opponents have reached 100 points. With Dallas coming in 28th in scoring, 27th in offensive efficiency and 28th in floor % Wolfy says they will not go close to posting triple figures. The Celtics are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 against West teams and 21-4-1 ATS in their last 26 after a win while the Mavs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 after a win and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 at home. Celtics to make it 16 in a row on the back of a double digit win.

Tip: Boston -7.5 ($1.92)
