NBA Tips – 17th April

The Pacers stole the show yesterday as they held the Cavs to just 80 points at home in what was a fantastic upset win. Just the two games coming up with the Heat and Spurs looking to turn things around after convincing losses in their respective opening matches.

NBA Feature Previews

1. Miami @ Philadelphia (Tue 10:05am)
Wolfy was all over Philly in the series opener and what a performance it was from them. Ben Simmons was one rebound away from a triple/double while the Belinelli/Ilyasova combination added 42 points off the bench. The 76ers ran the floor at every opportunity and they will continue to do so with a bench that can both run and score. The pace nullified the Heat’s use of Whiteside who managed just 2 points and played just 12 minutes. The win streak now stands at 17 and The Wolf cannot see a way that the Heat bring it to an end in Philly. The 76ers are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 following a double digit win and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 after scoring 100 or more. Their offence is firing on all cylinders and it is their depth which will again ensure that they cover the spread with relative ease.
Best: Philadelphia -6.5 ($1.92)
Prop: Ben Simmons 12+ assists ($2.35)

2. San Antonio @ Golden State (Tue 12:35pm)
The defending champs made a statement in Game 1! They shot over 54% from the floor while holding the Spurs to a mediocre 40%. It translated in a 21 point win and The Wolf says this series has the makings of a sweep. The Warriors are an impossible matchup for Pop and the Spurs in their current state. As we have seen in the past, you simply cannot play multiple bigs against the Warriors and you have to be able to make threes. San Antonio rank 28th in makes from beyond the arc and 25th in percentage. They have now lost their last 9 road games and have gone 1-8 ATS along the way. Aldridge has been their only attacking weapon this season and the Warriors have shown that they can make him a non-factor. The Wolf says we will be backing the Warriors all series long. He is also expecting Durant to tally up the assists which coach Pop using then double team on his regularly.
Tip: Golden State -9.5 ($1.92)
Prop: Kevin Durant 6+ assists ($1.80)
