NBA Tips – 13th January

The Cavs were torched in Toronto yesterday and The Wolf says they will do well to challenge the Pacers in Indiana.

NBA Feature Previews

1. Cleveland @ Indiana (11:05am)

We learned a fair bit about the Cavs yesterday. It became as clear as day that they are going to waste very little energy in regular season games and this shapes as a genuine schedule loss. They are 7-12 straight up in their last 19 when on the second of a back to back and dropped to 0-8 ATS in their last 8 road games. Their 3-13 ATS record in their last 16 is reason for concern and they don’t match up well against the Pacers. Indiana are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Indiana and are seeking their 3rd straight win over the reigning Eastern Conference champions. The Cavs have lost 7 of their last 8 road games and have failed to score 100 points in 5 of their last 7 travels. The King and co will be fine come playoff time but we will be fading them when on back to backs.

Tip: Indiana WIN ($2.00)

2. Golden State @ Milwaukee (12:05pm)

The next week will be a real test for the Warriors. They play the Bucks, Raptors and Cavs in a 4 days span which means we are likely to see some form of player rotation. The Bucks have really given the Warriors a run in recent seasons going 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings and The Wolf is expecting them to go right at the champs. Wolfy says to play the totals and do so aggressively in this one. The Over is 6-0 in the Warriors last 6 and 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Likewise the Bucks have been filling it up. Over is 9-2-1 in their last 12 home games, 8-3 in their last 11 against West teams and 14-4-1 in their last 19 after allowing 100 or more in their previous game. With 2 of the top 3 teams in terms of shooting % taking the floor they will eclipse the total midway through the fourth.

Tip: Over 223.5 points ($1.91)

3. Houston @ Phoenix (2:35pm)

Want to know the totals they have reached in the last 7 meetings… Here they are: 258, 249, 235, 246, 236, 239 and 216! The Over is 7-0 in that stretch and the Rockets love to turn it into a shootout when facing bad teams. The Over is also 7-0 in their last 7 when facing sides with a losing record not to mention 10-1 in their last 11 against Western Conference opponents. The Rockets have significant rest to follow with multiple days rest between each of their two games after this one which leads The Wolf to believe that they will not hesitate to run the floor with the Suns. On the topic of rest the Suns are coming off 3 days of it and the Over is 9-3 in their last 12 when that is the case. The Wolf says we used to fear taking the Overs with big totals but he said the NBA has changed and we must now embrace them.

Tip: Over 226.5 points ($1.91)
