NBA Feature Previews
1. Boston @ Philadelphia (7:05am) – London
The 02 Arena in London will be hosting it’s 8th regular season NBA game with the Celtics and 76ers to battle it out. At a neutral venue The Wolf is surprised to see the Celtics open as just 2 point favourites. With a 19-19 record the 76ers a bang on .500 and have struggled against the men in green multiple times this season. The Celtics are 2-0 both straight up and ATS in the two clashes to date and have been held to just 97 and 92 points respectively. Boston have done a great job shutting down Simmonds and Embiid and The Wolf has questions over how a young Philly team will cope with the extended travel and unfamiliar surroundings. The Wolf will be taking the Celtics at the line and is predicting them to put on a show and go well over the set total.
2. Cleveland @ Toronto (12:05pm)
Cleveland has owned this series in recent years. The Cavs have won 9 of the last 10 meetings going 8-2 ATS in that stretch. The Wolf is well aware that the Raptors are 14-2 at home but the Cavs have consistently turned up in statement games this season and this one falls right into that category. With Ibaka out and Lowry a game time decision DeRozan will have to carry the hosts. As good as the Raptors have been they are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 against teams with a winning record and have had no answer for LeBron. The King’s output in his last 4 against the Raptors…. 35, 35, 39 and 35 points! He will completely dominate. Offence will be the name of the game and with both sides ranked in the top 5 for both points per game and offensive efficiency this will be some spectacle.
3. San Antonio @ LA Lakers (2:35pm)
Back to back wins have been a rarity for the Lakers this season but after wins over the Hawks and Kings they could make it 3 in a row for the first time this season. They will be given every opportunity against a short handed Spurs who will go without Kawhi and Rudy Gay while Tony Parker and Danny Green could also sit. It is the ideal scenario for the Lakers to actively push the pace. Gasol and Aldridge would likely have to play more minutes and the direction from Luke Walton will be to run them off their feet. The Over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and 7-1 in the Spurs last 8 against teams with a losing record. The Wolf is happy to be on the Overs.
