NBA Tips – 11th November

The Cavs defensive frailties were on full display yesterday while the Pelicans and Lakers both failed on the road. Today The Wolf is very interested to see how the Thunder pull up on the second of a back to back. He suspects that Westbrook will put the team on his back!

Feature Previews

1. Atlanta @ Detroit (11:05am)

The Hawks have been more competitive over the last week but The Wolf says that the trip to Little Caesars Arena is becoming one of the toughest in the East. The Pistons are 5-1 at home this season and their 8-2-1 ATS record is a benchmark in the NBA. The return of Schroder has seen the Hawks offence improve dramatically and it is no surprise that the Over is 5-0 in their last 5. The Over is also 18-6-2 in their last 26 against teams with a win % above .600 and 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. The Hawks will put up a fight early but the Pistons will really go on with it in the second half. Detroit has gone 10-1 ATS in it’s last 11 when their opponent allows 100 or more in the game before and 11-2-1 ATS in last 14 at home to sub .400 teams. Much to like about the Pistons and Wolfy has them winning by double digits.

Tip: Detroit -8.5 ($1.92)

2. Milwaukee @ San Antonio (1:05pm)

The well oiled machine that is the Spurs continues to tick over nicely. Despite missing Kawhi and Tony Parker they are 7-4 and just 1.5 games behind the Warriors. The Bucks will be disappointed to be 4-6 and will have to start playing better on the defensive end. Their biggest problem has been an excessive amount of fouls and they are giving up far too many points from the stripe. As a result they have struggled against some of the better teams in the league. They are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 against teams with a record above .600 and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against San Antonio. The excessive fouls has also led to them blowing out the totals. The Over is 6-1 in their last 7 road games which lines up perfectly with the fact that the Over is 9-3 in the Spurs last 12 at home and 10-3 in their last 13 when on 2 days rest. Then we have the added fact that it is a national TV game. The stars will want to shine and that means the Greek Freak in full flight.

Tip: Over 206.5 points ($1.91)

3. Orlando @ Phoenix (1:05pm)

The Suns had a mini revival once they changed coaches but that has come to an end. They are 0-4 both straight up and ATS in their last 4 and host a Magic side that continues to cause upsets. They have already won in Cleveland, New Orleans and Memphis this season and have taken care of bad teams on the road. They are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games again teams with a win % below .400. This may surprise a few people but the Magic are one of the league’s best shooting teams. They rank 4th in effective field goal % and second in 3-point percentage. Want to know why that’s important… it’s because Phoenix rank 25th in opponent 3-point %. This matchup is tailor made for Fournier who has 25 in each of his last two against the Suns.

Tip: Orlando -3.5 ($1.92)
