Game 2 of the World Series felt like a home run derby which wasn’t ideal for the Wolf’s under total runs bet. The series now moves to Houston for 3 games and the Astros are just favourites in game 3. Read on for the Wolf’s preview of game 3.
Los Angeles Dodgers at Houston Astros (11:00am)
The Astros squared the series with an epic 7-6 victory in extras on Thursday. Down 3-2 in the 9th, they got past Jansen with a homer to González. Then in the 10th and 11th, they scored 2 runs in both innings. The Dodgers got within a run in the 11th but Devenski held strong for the Astros. They now head home with the momentum after a stunning win. They’re undefeated at home in the postseason as well. In game 3, Lance McCullers will head to the mound for the Astros against Yu Darvish of the Dodgers. In his last start, McCullers pitched 4 impressive innings in game 7 against the Yankees in the ALCS. He earned his first career save and allowed just 1 hit over 4 innings. So he’ll use that form in this game against the Dodgers. He also hasn’t earned a loss at home this season in 9 starts. He allowed just 5 home runs in 50.1 innings and teams batted just .222 against him. Darvish will make his third start on the road this postseason and the Dodgers have won both games so far. He pitched against the Cubs and allowed 6 hits over 6.1 innings as the Dodgers won 6-1. In his first start of the postseason, he went 5 innings against the Diamondbacks and allowed just 2 hits. The Dodgers are 5-2 in his 7 road starts at the club and they’ll be confident of a rebound in game 3. However, the Astros haven’t lost at home in the 2017 postseason as they hold a 6-0 record. They do have a 4-0 record at home against the Dodgers as well. McCullers earned a win in the last game at home in this matchup (2015). So the Wolf is backing the Astros to get up in game 3. He would also back the under total runs as a side bet.
