The Yankees and Orioles were postponed on Thursday so the Wolf is sticking with the over total runs on Friday. The Indians are on a 14 game winning streak and they’ll likely make it 15 with Kluber on the mound. The Wolf will start with a preview of the Cubs and Pirates final clash of the season below.
Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates (9:05am)
The Cubs and Pirates meet for the last time this season and the season head-to-head is tied at 9-9. The two sides played in a low scoring game on Thursday but the Wolf can see runs flowing in this pitching matchup. Jon Lester of the Cubs has a woeful record against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. In his last two starts at PNC Park, he’s allowed 5 runs in both. He also lasted under an inning in his previous start against the Pirates. The Pirates went on to win 14-3 and the Cubs are 5-1 against the over total score in Lester’s last 6 starts. In his last two starts alone, there has been a total of 49 runs scored. So the over runs is looking the goods. Jameson Taillon is up for the Pirates and he earned 4 runs against the Cubs at home in this last start. Despite a scoreless outing in his last start at home, he’s allowed 5 runs against the Dodgers and 4 against the Cardinals recently. So the best bet here is the over runs total.
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers (12:10pm)
The Dodgers are in terrible form at the moment but Clayton Kershaw is back on the mound. He’s 3-1 against the Rockies this season and the Dodgers won 4-0 in the last meeting with Kershaw pitching. Kershaw has a 2.39 ERA at home this season and his W-L record is 8-1. The Dodgers have a 20-2 record in his 22 starts this season and the Wolf is tipping the Dodgers can rebound here. For the Rockies, Jon Gray heads to the mound and his ERA on the road is 4.96 with a 2-3 record. The Rockies have a 1-5 record in his last 6 starts so they’ll likely struggle again in Los Angeles. Also since the All-Star break, the Rockies are just 7-13 on the road. In their last 5 games at Dodger Stadium, they’re 1-4 and the Dodgers have won all by the handicap. Therefore, the Wolf is going with a 2+ run win for the Dodgers.
