The Wolf is back for more MLB action and he’ll preview the two best games of the day below.
New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles (9:05am)
The Yankees and Orioles are locked at $1.91 in the betting and the Wolf will try to find the best bet. Kevin Gausman from the Orioles has a career ERA of 6.75 in his last 5 starts against the Yankees. However, he has pitched two straight scoreless outings against the Blue Jays and Red Sox. His ERA at home this season is 4.68 and he allowed 2 runs over 5.1 innings in his last home start against the Yankees. The Orioles are also 2-0 in his last 2 home starts against them. The over total saluted in his last home start against them so the Wolf is leaning on that side. For the Yankees, Sonny Gray gets the ball for this start and he’s struggled as a Yankee so far. He has lost 4 of 6 starts and the Yankees are 2-4 in those games. He has also lost three straight starts in Baltimore over the last few years. So the Wolf is tipping he’ll struggle again. But the best bet in this game should be the over runs total. It’s 7-0 in the last seven meetings and the Wolf is backing it here.
Arizona D-backs at Los Angeles Dodgers (12:10pm)
It’s the last game of the series between the Dodgers and D-Backs on Thursday. It will also be the last matchup of the regular season. The Dodgers are again favourites in this matchup, but this should be a lot closer than the odds say. Taijun Walker of the D-Backs earned a win in his last start at Dodger Stadium and the D-Backs won 3-1. He’s earned two straight wins and kept the Rockies scoreless over 5 innings last start. He’s also pitched two straight scoreless outings on the road, so the Wolf is confident he can keep the Dodgers quiet. The Dodgers are starting Kenta Maeda and he has a poor record against the D-Backs. In his last 5 career starts, he owns a 7.77 ERA and the D-Backs scored 7 runs against him last week. Also in his last start at home against them, he earned 4 runs and the Dodgers won 8-4. However, the Dodgers have an 11-0 record in his last 11 home starts so he should be able to keep this close. Also in his last home outing, he only allowed 1 hit against the Brewers over 6 innings. The under runs total is 4-1 in his last 5 home starts and in the Dodgers current form (1-9 in last 10 games), this looks like the best value bet.
