The Wolf went 2-0 on Friday and he’s looking for a Grand Slam of tips on Saturday.
Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros (4:00am)
The Astros pummelled the Red Sox 8-2 in game 1 and they’ll start as favourites in game 2. Dallas Keuchel will head to the mound and he’s 6-3 at home with a 2.26 ERA in 2017. But the Astros are just 2-4 in his last 6 home starts. So the Red Sox are a chance in game 2. Drew Pomeranz beat the Astros in his last start and he is 7-3 on the road with a 3.19 ERA this season. They also won 2-1 against the Astros when Pomeranz last hit the mound in Houston. The Red Sox are 28-13 as an underdog this season and they’ll be desperate to tie the series at 1-1. The Wolf is going for the Red Sox.
New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians (7:00am)
The Indians are now 4-0 against the Yankees and 3-1 ATS in those games. They now send Corey Kluber to the mound after his dominant season. He’s 18-4 with a 2.25 ERA. At home he’s even more dominant with a 1.81 ERA and a 10-2 record. Overall the Indians are 20-9 in his 29 starts this season and the Wolf is predicting a tough game 2 for the Yankees. CC Sabathia has a decent record on the road with a 3.18 ERA. But after the Yankees were held scoreless in game 1, the Wolf can’t see them improving against Kluber. So he’s sticking with the Indians by the handicap again in game 2.
Chicago Cubs at Washington Nationals (9:30am)
The Nationals host the Cubs on Saturday in game 1. In the pitching matchup, Stephen Strasburg will look to continue his form into the postseason. In the last 3 months, his ERA is well under 2 and in September alone he won 4 of 5 starts for a 0.83 ERA. The Nationals are 7-0 overall and 4-0 at home. In his last three starts at home, he has combined for just 6 hits in 21.1 innings. So the Wolf can see him dominating the Cubs in game 1. The Cubs have Kyle Henricks on the mound and he’s also in good form on the mound. He has a 2.83 ERA on the road with a 3-2 record. The Cubs are 1-2 in his last 3 road starts, but the under has saluted in the last two. The under total is also 3-2-0 in his last 5 starts overall. So the under total would be a good bet here. But the Nationals did win 8-4 in Strasburg’s last start at home against the Cubs. So the handicap is looking like the best bet for game 1 which the Nats are 4-3 ATS versus the Cubs in 2017.
Arizona D-backs at Los Angeles Dodgers (12:30pm)
In the last game of the day, two NL West rivals start the NLDS series. The Dodgers will have Kershaw on the mound and they’re hard to back against when he pitches. He is 4-0 against the Diamondbacks and 7-3 overall since 2013. The Dodgers are 11-2 in his 13 home starts this season and they have beaten the Diamondbacks twice. For the Diamondbacks, Taijaun Walker has struggled for consistency all season and that spells trouble in the playoffs. The Diamondbacks are 0-4 in his last 4 starts overall and 0-2 on the road. So the Wolf just can’t see the Diamondbacks getting close and he’s backing another handicap win.
