MLB Tips – 29th September

The Wolf said he would bounce straight back and he did so in style with a 9-4 effort. Both previews grabbed the cash and he has another two for us on Thursday.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Washington Nationals

Tip: Over 8.5 runs ($1.91)

The Nationals are struggling to keep some of their key pieces on the field at the moment with Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy and Wilson Ramos all missing Wednesdays game with a various injuries. Ramos is actually done for the season after tearing his ACL in the series opener, tough to take just days out from the postseason. Washington got the cash Wednesday behind a 4-2 scoreline and will need to keep winning to grab home field advantage in the NLDS coming up against the Dodgers. The snakes have struggled with bat in hand recently, scoring two or fewer in eight of their last 11 but there was a shining light on Tuesday when they exploded for 14 runs in the opener. A lot of the over trends are coming from the Nationals side, going over in four of their last five overall and four of five against right handed starters. The only real significant Arizona over trend comes in the form of a 13-3 over record in their last 16 vs NL East teams. There is however a solid trend between these two when they play, 13-3 in the last 16 meetings. Definitely worth a second look.

Milwaukee Brewers at Texas Rangers

Tip: Brewers under 3.5 runs ($1.95)

The Rangers picked up the victory on Wednesday with two former Brewers doing most of the damage. Carlos Gomez jacked a three run homer while Jonathan Lucroy hit an important two run double to put Milwaukee away. Texas need to keep winning if they are to secure home field advantage in the playoffs, sitting a half game ahead of Boston and 1.5 in front of Cleveland. They will send Cole Hamels (15-5, 3.30 ERA) to the mound and he’s coming off a 3-0 victory that clinched the AL West. He posted six hits over seven scoreless innings and looked very impressive in doing so. He’s had some decent success against Milwaukee in the past, owning a 7-3 record while keeping the bats to just .240 batting average. In the 31 games Hamels has started this season, 24 of them have seen him give up 3 earned runs or less. The Wolf has confidence that he can keep the Brewers off the board and let the bullpen clean it up.
