The rally caps failed to do their job on Thursday so The Wolf is changing his tactics for Friday. He’s grabbing the bat and will let fly!

MLB Feature Previews

Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers (10:10am) (Best)

Tip: Pirates WIN ($1.80)

Pittsburgh is losing ground in the NL wild card race and will need to start turning their form around if they are any chance of catching up. They get that chance when they travel to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers in a four game series starting Friday. They are losers in five of their last six – a 1-5 homestand – and now sit 3 ½ games behind the St Louis Cardinals for the second wild card spot. It won’t be easy though with Milwaukee on a roll, winning a season high four consecutive contests and Ryan Braun hitting home runs for fun. The pitching matchup will see Chad Kuhl (3-1. 3.62 ERA) taking on Wily Peralta (5-9, 6.00 ERA). The Pirates are 6-1 in Kuhl’s last 7 starts while the Brewers are just 1-5 in Peralta’s last 5 starts vs a team with a winning record. If you’re a close follower of the Wolf, you’ll know we’ve backed in Kuhl a couple of times for the win and faded Peralta a number of times with solid success. Not much is going to change here, we’re putting the cash on Kuhl and the Pirates to take the game one victory.

Baltimore Orioles at Washington Nationals (9:05am)

Tip: Nationals Over 4.5 runs ($1.43)

The Orioles are shooting for a four game sweep in the home and home series against Washington. They have used the last three games to keep the pressure on Boston and Toronto in the AL East and maintain their spot in the AL wild card race. They haven’t been shy about scoring runs in the process, scoring in bunches as they showed on Thursday in a 10-8 victory. They have now outscored the Nationals 22-12 in the series and don’t look like slowing down any time soon. The Nationals are now losers in four straight but still hold a seven game lead over the Marlins in the NL East and are about to hit a real soft spot in their schedule, playing four of their next five series against losing record clubs. Ubaldo Jimenez (5-10, 6.94 ERA) returns from the DL in place of injured Chris Tillman for Baltimore and was roughed up in his last appearance out of the pen. The over is 7-0 in his last 7 starts against teams with winning records and 10-2 in his last 12 starts overall. There is a heap of trends pointing to the over here and tipping Washington push past that 4.5 runs on offer.
