MLB Tips – 24th July

MLB betting odds multi

The winning run came to a crashing halt on Saturday with a 6-9 effort. On The Wolf’s recent MLB form though, he’ll bounce back in a big way with Sunday’s set.

Best Bets

Minnesota Twins at Boston Red Sox (9:10am)

Tip: Red Sox -1.5 ($1.77)

Boston was expecting great things when they signed David Price (9-7, 4.36 ERA) to a mega deal but he has endured what can only be called a roller coaster season in front of the Fenway faithful. He now gets the perfect opportunity to roll out a quality outing at home against Minnesota who he has an unblemished record against in his last five outings. Price is 5-0 with a 0.94 ERA in his last five outings. Despite his poor year, his form at home has been solid going eight innings in each of his last four outings. Opposing Price will be Ricky Nolasco (4-8, 5.02 ERA) who has posted three consecutive quality starts. He is 3-2 with a 4.50 ERA lifetime against the Red Sox but has been smashed for 10 runs in just 8.1 innings in his last two appearances at Fenway. David Ortiz will be excited to see Nolasco on the mound, facing him 13 times and putting three over the fence. Boston have to start firing and the man who owns the largest pitcher contract in MLB history has to stand up here.

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies (10:10am)

Tip: Rockies WIN ($1.54)

When you are playing against a side that you haven’t lost to at home in 25 month you would have to have some confidence and that’s exactly where Colorado is. They picked up the 4-3 victory on Saturday to extend the Braves drought at Coors Field, dating back to 2014. The Braves aren’t just bad at Coors either, they have now lost 10 of their last 11 overall against the Rockies. Colorado will send Tyler Anderson (2-3, 3.43 ERA) to the mound to face off against the Braves Matt Wisler (4-9, 4.67 ERA). Anderson has won his last two efforts after starting 0-3 on the year. He’s had five home starts and holding a 2-1 record with a 3.26 ERA. Wisler was pretty generous in his last couple of outings, giving up a total of five homers and 12 runs in 10 innings. The Braves own the worst record in the league at 33-64 and you could only be a Braves supporter if you hold out any hope for them doing anything for the rest of the year. Rockies to win and put some runs on in the process to win by 3.
